A week ago, I started to have some issues with a pair of bose qc25 with the left ear barely working on the noise cancelling function.

When I dissembled the headphones to see on what was going on, it looks like the thin piece of copper had some condensation inside between the tape and the copper which may have oxidized it, which eventually it has split apart. I am not a expert on metallurgist so correct me If I’m wrong.

When I looked online I was told by some hobbyist that you can fix this issue with a soldering iron which is something I don’t have yet.

I’m not going to repair something that is made to break over and over again like a apple product, So I just pulled out my old Sennheiser HD 449 and play some brown noise instead of fixing something that will crap out again in a months time.

After researching on bose headphones to find out more about then, I learned that Bose headphones are commonly poorly made headphones compared to Sony and the Sennheiser that I normally use.

I was stupid enough to buy something just this once without researching it, so I hope you guys consider buying something else over bose when you are buying noise cancelling headphones. This workaround works nicely, but I do like the ability to cancel out noise while playing music so that I don’t have to crank up the volume while at home. There goes three hundred dollars down the drain.
    That really p~~~ed me off!

Well, I can relate, coolthingy450. Even though I never used Bose headphones myself in the first place, that brand may now go onto the black list.

So I just pulled out my old Sennheiser HD 449

You know, I always swore by Sennheiser. Now take it from a guy, who really should know by profession…

Bose has an excellent return and repair policy. Is there a reason you did not send them back?

I just bought their blue tooth earbuds and love the hell out of them.

Like many mass produced items, Bose and everything under sun gets some bad QC once in a while. Listening to Bose currently and in past have had a couple fail but mostly they stick out well for me.

For higher end audio I have always been keen with German-make – Beyerdynamic. Their higher end cans are still 100% handmade.

    .

My warranty has expired. And the cost to send it back and have it repaired is just not worth it.

I use JFC headphones (using them right now to listen to the morning radio show) and i used to use Sony headphones till they broke.

Both of them are/were great headphones except both of them got hot after a while (bad air flow).

Sorry coolthingy450. I know what it’s like to have to spend your hard earned money on something just to have it kick the s~~~ter. In doing my research previously on headphones, I found that the ever popular “DRE Beats” brand actually cost around $12 dollars to make. The major difference in the manufacturing process is that heavy parts are intentionally used to make the headphones. As people somehow think a heavier product represents or entails a higher quality. Other than that, there is nothing special about them other than the name attached to them. Go figure….

You know, unrelated, by yea, things are not as good as they could be. I bought a escort passport $350 radar detector and after about 8 months I started having issues with the bluetooth, now it won’t even work. I know the feeling of buying nice things and then just crapping out. I was thinking about upgrading anyways, so I may do the trade in program. But Man, they DON’t make stuff like they use to that’s for sure!.

My old headphones I had lasted and LASTED and LASTED. today, the earcups start to flake in about the first month.

Good call on the German cans, MAN they just feel great!

No highs, no lows, must be Bose.
