I tried doing a search and had a bit of a look and it seems that no one has posted about this.

Some facts for you. Your body actually can process fats quite well, I’m talking normal fat like from meats, milk etc not so much the trans fats. People used to eat a high fat diet and never had the problems we have now.

So what changed? There are some documentaries around that suggest that in the USA in the 50’s they actually found that Sugar was what made you fat, not Fat itself. Sugar gets stored by your body and ends up as excess energy, or in other words – fat. Despite this evidence the Sugar industry lobbied and so they switched the blame onto Fats, so they pushed a low fat diet, high carbs such as cereals (ahem sugar).

Some docos you can look up are “The men who made us fat” and “That Sugar Film”.

Anyway, the point of this post is fat provides flavour, if you take away the fat (flavour) than you have to replace that flavour with something else to make it taste better – like for example, Sugar and/or salt!!

So it becomes a scam, they are selling you low fat options because you want to lose weight but they are adding more sugar which makes it less healthy for you and will make you fatter.

I agree. Stay away from low fat, less fat, low calorie. Stay away from soy and corn syrup as much as you can. The more natural food -the better.

Fats are essential nutrients. Low fat diets can cause all kinds of crap listed here –

There is also some evidence suggesting low fat diet contributes to neurodegenerative diseases like dementia and alzheimer’s

Both you guys are spot on…

Humans need both meat protein and fat to thrive and be healthy. But un-natural fats, like processed sugar, artificial candies, processed corn sugar and syrup are going to be very bad JUJU for the body in the long run.

Also, I have an incredibly insightful Naturopathic Doctor friend, who has turned me on to a number of “next level” health tips (you know, you’re going along feeling pretty good then you add a supplement or an exercise and all of the sudden you jump up to the “next level” of health) told me recently that as long as he has been studying health he can find no evidence whatsoever of any strict vegetarian living past the age of 70 – period.

Humans need animal protein. Some “Vegetarians” eat fish and some eat eggs – both good animal proteins. But the strict “Vegan” who will not eat any animal protein is subjecting themselves to a short life and self-imposed early death sentence.

One of the niftiest “tips” my Naturopathic Doctor friend turned me onto was taking a portion of clean whey isolate right before going to bed. It may seem counter-intuitive to “eat something” right before resting and sleeping – and it really seemed so to me the first time he told me about it – but he is right, it works fantastic!

I’ve been taking a couple of scoops of a very clean organic whey protein powder before going to bed for a year now – and it’s amazing! I sleep “fast” – I don’t know how else to describe it. I fall asleep right away, sleep very deeply, and wake with hard charging energy 6 hours later. Not 8 hours, but 6 hours, like clockwork. And if needed I have shrunk that to 4 hours a night from time to time when needed. And I don’t need any caffeine to get going in the morning since I’ve been doing this, and no lack of energy during the day, so no naps in the afternoon as well.

My Doctor friend described it like this: when you are sleeping your body is in “repair” mode, so when you fill your tank (stomach) with a good clean simple structure whey protein right before the repair process of sleep begins the body quickly grabs this simple protein and sends it all over the body using it for needed repairs. If the body is not supplied with the “rebuilding blocks” of this simple protein then it has to use additional energy to break down stored protein and fats to carry out the repair process during sleep.

He described it in even more detail then I just did, but I don’t care about all that, all I know is that it works, and has been the best thing I have done for myself health wise in the past year.

If anyone is interested I will go grab the whey canister and post the name of the brand my Naturopathic Doc friend turned me onto last year, he says it’s the cleanest and best one made right now…

A vegetarian/vegan diet can also make you very light headed and docile/confused which is why so many cults and some religions will impose that on their followers.

I like the whey protein tip as well. I will have to source some.

Don’t eat anything pre made if you can help it. I haven’t gone vegan/vegetarian but I am cutting back on my meat intake. I’ve also recently started improving my intake of fruits and vegetables. My skin looks f~~~ing great, the kinda glow that pregnant chicks have, only I’m a male. I have way more energy and my mind runs clearer, I can concentrate in ways I couldn’t imagine just a month ago.

Sugar is honestly one of the most f~~~ed up things in our society and we should seek out natural sweeteners if their at all affordable. Your health is so much more valuable.
