If hypothetically, I was getting beat down by a chick I was with in a domestic situation, I would willingly take the beating at all costs.

If a guy calls 911 to report being assaulted, a woman can just tell the police when they arrive that she was defending herself due to the guy trying to rape her. Then the guy gets arrested and charged.

Wish the scenario I just explained was not possible but it is.

Good. Men need to report this stuff. The sham of the angel of the hearth has to be exposed. Let the toll rise. Women are not gentle, they are just weak. Take away consequence and the weak can be as strong as they like. They made the big state the great father who does the punishing. Let it punish them.

Alas though it will take time because we are still living under the myth that prison is bad for women (worse for women than for men) and that women only abuse when they are abused.

I’ve always known it’s a lot more common than people keep saying. A lot of cases just go unreported because men are trained to feel ashamed if they find themselves in that situation. And anybody he tells is trained to brush it off.

It’s no surprise to me that surveyors have found this wrinkle. The problem is widespread because it’s allowed to be. The fact is that hurting a man is simply not taken as seriously as hurting a woman, and when you’ve lived with that principle for so long, of course women will take advantage of it. They know that no-one will be on the man’s side. The public reaction is always the same: it’s either a) “He probably did something to deserve it”; (b) he’s a man, he can take a few slaps”; or c) “Well, now he knows how abused women had it for so long.” It never varies. From irrational people, I mean.

Feminists have long clung to the “1 in 5 women will experience domestic violence” statistic; it’s good to see the acknowledgement that violence is not a gender issue. Unfortunately, bringing the evidence to light doesn’t mean it will lessen. The collective has been encoded for so long, they’re not going to stop being amused by violence against men now. They’ll continue to make excuses for it or claim that it’s not a big deal. People are simply too indoctrinated with the opinion that violence against women is a far worse problem. So Sky-O is right – it won’t matter how many people read this. Despite how much proof is provided to the contrary, all a woman has to do is tell the police that she was defending herself and they’re expected to take her word for it.
