After Christmas, I hope I get the Best Buy gift cards I’m asking for, I’m planning on a home theater upgrade. The time has come to go from a 1080p 7.2 surround sound to a 4K Dolby Atmos receiver from Best Buy. I already got the 49″ 4K, 4K Blu-Ray player and 4K HDMI cables. I just need the receiver and I found the one I want here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-1155w-7-2-ch-with-dolby-atmos-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-compatible-a-v-home-theater-receiver-black/5761206.p?skuId=5761206

You ought to hear the movie “Saving Private Ryan” in 7.2 surround 4K. The gunshots make the war sound like it’s surrounding the room. I didn’t think they made surround sound that good yet. Even Call Of Duty Of Duty sounds amazing on my current receiver. If it looks and sounds a good as it does on my current receiver, I can’t wait until Dolby Atmos.

Best part about getting new technology for my bedroom man cave is me hooking it up, which I love doing. I try to apply at my local Best Buy for home theater department, but no response as with all employers. Home theater installations, computer assemble and repair and arcade/pinball restore are what I want to do some day when I can get it. After all, I’m the kind of guy who likes to work in technology.

If I ever upgrade, it’ll be a Yamaha receiver for me. I’ve had my Yamaha receiver for more years than I can remember and it still delivers the power and the clean sound. It’s so old it has no HDMI in’s/out’s. I still have to use optic cables with it.

I have Yamaha speakers now which have also mostly stood the test of time, but when I upgrade I’ll go with some Polk speakers. One of my subwoofers went to schit, so I bought a real nice Polk sub with a really long throw. It’s a 12″ front firing polypropylene woofer with a down firing port. 200 watt RMS, (400 watt peak). That thing can blow you back in your chair and shake the house apart.

I’m big into home theater as well. I get all my stuff from Crutchfield. Crutchfield I just wish I could afford to build the one I want. That sub alone cost me $500.00. One piece at a time, I guess.

I have to buy Sony products when it comes to technology because my only Visa card is Sony Rewards. I can get 5X the rewards for buying Sony products from certified stores like Best Buy. For every 1,000 Sony rewards, I buy a free $10 PlayStation Network card and redeem it on the PS4 for free games.

I have a 50″ Sony Bravia LED LCD TV mounted on the wall. It’s a pretty good TV.
