    Do we need a “Going Full Retard” Contest for Toxic Corporate Hostility?

    Over the last few years the rule “get woke, go broke” has come into existence. Where corporations get drunk on the social justice wine and decide to insult their customer base, in the hopes of convincing another group of people to become new customers. These tactics range from hostile marketing campaigns to changing the products to where the old customer base does not like them. Anyway, the old customers flee and no new customers are created, which leads to the corporations taking a financial hit of their own making.

    But, because these corporations are drunk on social justice, as they lose money they further insult and blame their former customers for leaving, while these corporations demand to use tax laws and have bailouts to make up the lost revenue, with this costing society in money taken on taxes. This is a true embrace of “privatize profits and socialize losses” belief.

    It seems the old rule, “the customer is always right” is dead.

    It use to be this happened once a year. Then, a few times a year. Now, this seem to be monthly. Where major corporations decide to become toxic and hostile towards their customer base in the hopes of making new customers, while taking for granted their old customers, or hoping their old customers would leave. When this does not work the corporations become even more toxic and hostile towards their former customers.

    We have been seeing this in an increasingly enlarging group of markets, such as media, film, gaming, music, publishing, tv series, and even personal hygiene products.

    This is no way to run a company. A company is suppose to be able making money from selling products and services to customers, not about preaching policies and being hostile to their customers, which drives away their customers.

    This is the economic equivalent of the term from the film Tropic Thunder, “Going Full Retard”. As that film pointed out, “Never go full retard.”

    Should their be a annual, or even monthly, “Going Full Retard” contest for corporations that have turned toxic to the point of being openly hostile towards their customer base?

    I am not going to do this because I lack the money to fight the legal fees which will likely created from making such an attempt. But, this is an interesting idea.

    I’ve already sworn off all Proctor & Gamble products. If Unilever and Johnson & Johnson go full retard then I may start to resemble a homeless person in the hygiene department. LOL

    I love this Peppermint Soap s~~~ but it’s kind of greasy. It’s best to mix it with some Axe body gel on one of those loafa things. Minty Fresh n Clean.

    I like the idea. Any entity with a Human Resources department would automatically get an honorable mention. It be a shorter list to mention those that support men.

    I just quietly boycott them…like Star Wars for example. I’ve been a life long SW fan, but soon as they went full on SJW with their movies I will no longer pay for anything that has to do with SW. No more movies, no more games, no collectables, etc. P&G wants to s~~~ on people like me? No problem, other companies make all the same s~~~ they make with different labels, when I run out of razor heads I’m just not going to buy any more Gillette refills, plenty of other brands to pick from. Nike? Yeah you want to feature that racist piece of s~~~ Krappernick in your adds…guess what, I’ve been buying Nike product my whole life. The last pair of shoes I bought weren’t Nike, the last hoodie I bought wasn’t Nike, and when I go grab a couple pairs of shorts and a hat or two when summer gets closer, they aren’t going to be Nike.

    Just gotta hit them where it hurts, the wallet. If enough people do it either they’ll learn and change their ways, or they’ll lose market share. I’m happy with those outcomes.

    I don’t think you need a contest, there are more than enough firms willing to compete for that particular corporate Darwin award.

    Beer’s got the right idea, there is very little in this world that cannot be obtained elsewhere, so if your supplier of choice decides to get woke, just quietly discard them, no public outcry or destruction of their products (the latter only costs you as you’ve already paid for it and now have to replace what you already had) no threats of boycotts, just use whatever you have left then buy an alternative. No muss, no fuss, and a wry chuckle to yourself when they start asking why they’re going broke.

    Perhaps, but Darwin award applies to both intentional and unintentional idiocy.

    I am talking about corporations that knowingly jump the shark while wearing the jetskies, do a swandive while wearing the cement boots, skydive without a parachute. In other words, the people running these corporations should know better but they still run off their customers.

    I agree. Although I am p~~~ed off, I see no point in virtue signalling, which is just another form of slacktivism. Hit ’em where it hurts.

    To return to the subject at hand, how about making the award with a used-up Gillette razor spray painted gold and glued to a piece of pallet wood? Call it the ‘Hairy Dumbass Marketing Award.’

    I was an innocent young boy in my mid teens head down studying hard . Then one day a friend of mine dropped by with a couple of tapes he found . Tv kids celebrity to my shock and horror f~~~ing dogs . On beta cassettes lol . Had to f~~~ around getting a beta cassette player as had vhs if i remember rightly .

    Even grumpy old bastards like me will accept a reasonable amount of “this product/entertainment is all-inclusive” as they are trying to sell to everyone as there are a considerable number of narrow-minded f~~~wits in the world who still need to buy stuff.

    As long as they are trying to sell to everyone I don’t really have a problem and neither will the shareholders as no-one gives enough of a f~~~ about it for it to affect the bottom line.

    It is the when the narrow-minded f~~~wits have control of the decision making and think everyone is or should be like them and take it too far and ostracise the majority who provide a significant part of their revenue that they run into difficulty. The corporate world is very Darwinian and as BritGHOW and Beer say above there are plenty of alternatives out there.

    It used to be that any publicity is good publicity and the arrogance of major companies thinking they have a monopoly or near-monopoly (Gillette and Google being examples) so they can say what they want no longer holds true. Smaller companies are very happy to build new business models and to pick up new customers through corporate stupidity of their competitors – how many new “send a pack of decent razors per month” companies have appeared in the last year or so?

    I’d encourage a “Going Full Retard” contest as, hopefully, this would accelerate the demise of those companies who put virtue-signalling above customer service and providing decent products or services, and would generate opportunities for companies who just what to get on with it and/or generate new business models.

    List of brands who no longer get any money or attention from me (as far as possible):
    Gillette and other P&G stuff, Lynx and other Unilever stuff, Google, Starbucks, The BBC, Disney, and a long list of “re-booted” films/TV series.

    They use Propaganda techniques developed by Edward Bernays long ago. Don’t create a product to fit your customer. Create the customer to fit the product. He also called this “Crystallizing Public Consent.”

    The Fascists are trying to alter our behavior and beliefs into self-flagellating corporate serfs. They want us apologizing for our very existence…and paying extra taxes for it!!!

    Meanwhile, they have cheapened their products and shortened the life cycles. This is called “Planned Obsolescence.” This makes sure that we have to constantly buy more of their crappy products because they continuously fail. If Gillete made a razorblade that lasted for a life time you would never need to buy another. They would rather you buy packs of “throwaway” blades. This is how the Corporate CEOs think.

    I remember meeting an Ivy League MBA in my company years ago. He finds out I’m a TaxGuy and immediately starts pontificating “You know, when you are deciding where to manufacture, you have to factor in the cheaper labor overseas and offset it with the shipping costs, the productivity lost because of language barriers, blah blah blah. Those about even out. But then you factor in the cheaper taxes and it’s a no brainer.”

    And I thought to myself, yup. No brainer. As in, you didn’t about it for a second, you just repeated something to me that you were taught by some professor whose never worked a day in a company.

    Why do I tell that story? Because what you are seeing is a younger generation coming out of college and going into jobs of influence that have brought their college “learning” (indoctrination) with them. And the colleges are teaching them to be SJW’s. So you might as well set up a contest because you have only seen the tip of the iceberg.

    As for my “friend” at work, he was fired about a year later. One reason I stay at the company I work for. They don’t put up with stupid. My company is a dying breed, but we also aren’t retail. Our customers only care that we make s~~~ and get it to them on time.

    But does this really happen though? From what I understand, Nike actually became more profitable after backing Kappernick. NFL has lost some ground, but it’s really hard to say if that’s because of SJW stuff, concussions, or just natural cycle in loss of interest. Has Walmart business dropped when they refused to sell guns? Did the NBA lose business when they refused to hold the all-star game in a state that didn’t have bathroom laws for LGBTQ? Hollywood has lost ground, but is that social activism causing this or just the improvement of home media services? Where are these examples where corporations have lost business due to social activism?

    From what I’ve seen boycotts aren’t as big of a threat as we’d like to think. At least, boycott’s from ‘right’ minded people. The ‘left’ seem to be more dedicated to their boycotts. Possibly because they are more interested in being outraged, women control 70% of spending, or they just have more time to deal with it.

    I think the bigger threat these SJW companies face is that once they set themselves as begin a higher moral authority, they know have to live under these new rules. When they break their own rules, they risk losing the left as well as the right. Starbucks has been SJW for a while, but their biggest hit is when they asked a couple black guys who were not buying coffee to leave. The NFL is getting less heat from the anthem controversy than they are from not punishing players accused to DV hard enough (without evidence). How soon before Nike gets caught up in a ‘slave labor’ controversy and takes a huge hit. Google is getting grilled for considering doing censored searches in China, thus breaking their ‘Do no evil’ rule.

    IMO, p~~~ing off the left is much more dangerous than the right. The left are emotional and not very forgiving at all. Facts are irrelevant to them. They control the media and thus can control the message. MGTOW are looking at SJW corporations as they should be looked at. But that’s not how most of America of sees them. That’s not going to change until there are some drastic changes in society.

    Ok. Then do it.
