Divorce should be finalized this month! I smell freedom!

Hello guys it’s been a while since I made a post I did stop in from time to time to read up on some posts. One week from today I get to schedule my final hearing to finalize my divorce this been a long rough year but I can smell the freedom. Once I call to schedule how long will they take to schedule the court date?

I’m on of the lucky ones that will be getting joint custody, no child support or alimony with no lawyers involved, although I did lose the house so I have to start over there. I been very low key from family and friends no one really know that I’m even getting divorced what is the first steps you divorced men took to start your new journey? Everyone deals with this differently. There is many feelings surrounding the next steps. Good and bad alike.

Depends on what you think about the fact you are now divorced.

I freely admit that I did not want a divorce but made no effort to stop Pumpkin. There was no point. So I had to grieve. I did that by entertaining a number of women because I deluded myself into thinking that would make me happy.
It didn’t hence why I made this place my second home.

My ex was a vegan, so she would never let any “animal based” food or sugar in the house. First thing I did, was go to Costco and spent $500 on meat and the other things that I had given up to keep the bitch quiet. Kind of ironic as she’s turning into a Land Whale eating vegetable based protein.

Thanks for your advice and kind words brothers! I didn’t want this until I joined this group and realized I need this. I am so looking forward to 2018.

I thought being happily married raising kids, and having one home was living the dream but that’s not reality. I have two sons 13 and 7 who will benefit from this in the end even though I feel awful that they got dragged into this. I’m grieving for them but happy and relieved for me if that makes sense.

lol I smell freedom.

Outside the courthouse that I was both married in and divorced, there is a bus stop. The diesel exhaust just hangs in the air and blows up against the courthouse. After going to court every week for 6 years, to me the smell of freedom is Bus exhaust.

I know, I am f~~~ed in the head. I like the smell of burnt diesel oil. Id walk past idling busses on the way to the parking lot, love idling diesel engine sound. Sorry guys, that has imprinted on me.

SERE taught me how to deal with pumpkin. You were in hostile territory. You’ll be in the DMZ for a while yet, be cautious, stay alert. Keep your wits about you.
You’ll be dealing with the enemy until the kids are grown. Do what you have to do to survive. You’ve got friends here.

It’s funny but when guys at work announce getting married I feel like I was just informed about an upcoming funeral. Hearing about a brother getting divorced without the divorce rape gives me far more joy! Congratulations on closing that chapter of your life! It gets better and better, and it’s great to hear about someone reclaiming their freedom.
