In my younger days, my parents paid for my health insurance. Then I joined the U.S. Army and all the health check ups were paid for. When I got out of the Army, I didn’t visit a doctor or dentist for several years until I paid for a subsidized health insurance program through my employer.

When I look at some of my medical bills, I’m amazed. It’s no wonder doctors and nurses get paid so much. The insurance company gets a discount from the regular rates, and whatever isn’t covered is out-of-pocket. A couple of years ago, I got a $500 bill in the mail. I got my bowels scanned because I had abdominal pain. My insurance paid for the doctor examination and part of the ultrasound scan.

My dental coverage is around $1000 a year. It’s amazing how much dental procedures cost. $80 for a teeth cleaning. $400 for a crown. $600 for a root canal. I’m grateful my parents paid for my braces.

Just visiting the doctor for a 10 minute examination is $100—which includes standing on a scale and getting my blood pressure checked. I guess that pays for the staff, supplies, rent, and utilities.

Medical doctor seems like a good gig, if you can get it.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Another Government bubble poised to collapse.

Government doesn’t “pick” the winners and the losers, they create market distortions and popping bubbles that make us all eventually the LOSERS.

The free market is dead and now controlled by government, the perfect storm is brewing for utter societal collapse, take care of yourself and brush your teeth, everything we see in danger of total collapse.

Communism and socialism serve the needs of the government and sacrifice the needs of the people.

    The Republic is DEAD!

Well, after you factor in extra years of education, the resulting student loans, malpractice insurance, medical insurance and government control over your practice, and having to deal with a ton of s~~~ty people…count me out.

I agree with Tower, the medical industry is a complete mess, and government interference has done the majority of the mess. There are quite a few fundamental changes that can be done that will have dramatic positive impact that the government will never allow.

    Ok. Then do it.

There are quite a few fundamental changes that can be done that will have dramatic positive impact that the government will never allow.

Now look at the entire governmental tree from that prospective^^^, it’s a matter of relinquishing power, giving up the OPM, high as a kite living on and spending Other People’s Money at a rate they must borrow the difference, then print more money to fill in the ever expanding hole they collectively created.

Never any tort reform because that would end the spoils of legal battles, and the large sums for victory, and constant theft on the dollar simply trough the physics of dilution, a downward spiral that steals the power of self determination from the people and transfers it to a far off group with one size fits all regulations that sniffle and impoverish the people.

America bursted from an endless forest, great planes, over the Rockies to the Pacific Ocean, from wilderness with a few plantations on the coastline to the greatest civilization ever, all done within 3oo years, I’ve news for the people in government,,,,

IT WASN’T GOVERNMENT THAT MADE AMERICA GREAT!

IT WAS THE LACK AND RESTRICTION OF GOVERNMENT THAT MADE AMERICA GREAT!

Emerald city flush and green from all the money just won’t get it until the whole thing comes down on them and all the lawns and everything green turns brown…

THEY ARE KILLING THE GREATEST NATION TO EVER EXIST.

    Bye bye!

    NFG!

What’s Trump doing to get rid of Obama care and get government out of our pockets in general?

Pretty much nothing. Not really much he can do. Congress has to do it, and there is no way they will.

I recently heard it explained this way. Anyway who really thinks about it knows that this problem isn’t the federal government’s role. At the very least, it should be done at the state level. So why doesn’t the Congress just give it up?

Because it means giving up power, in every way. If the Federal government doesn’t have a say in healthcare, then there is no need Federal healthcare lobbyists. No lobbyists, no money. No money, no re-election. And then they also have to stop funding schools, send that back to the states, too. No money….no re-election.

And the states don’t even want that power back. Why? Because power at the state level isn’t going to bring in the lobbyist money. It’s too divided in 50 states. Still no lobbyists, no money. And re-election? States are the minor leagues…they are only there waiting for their shot at the Federal major leagues.

The system works for all the politicians involved.

    Ok. Then do it.

You have a good point there. Some states rely on federal grants for their healthcare programs. Otherwise, they’d have to raise taxes (dramatically) on their citizens.

I lucked out and had good insurance. When I went down hard medical bills were over 200,000.00. I paid the deductible of 3200.00 and was done. Now I pay and extra fee for having ‘Cadillac’ insurance (f~~~ you Obama). I worked my ass off to get it so now I get penalized for having it.

I think you are probably right about that.
