I’m very interested in knowing just how far we have progressed in developing interactive computers. What I specifically want to know is about “conversations” with a computer. I speak, ask a question and the computer answers in a human voice.
I do not mean just saying “computer, turnoff the lights”

I mean something like this, ” Computer, who do you think will win the Super Bowl ? Computer answers (for example, “The Pittsbugh Steelers” I then say, Really ? Why do you say that ? and I get some intelligent reply.

Is it THAT sophisticated yet ?

Many businesses are developing chat bots for customer service and they are very talented. Insurance and other industries are seeing up to 40 percent of chat requests resolved by them. Things are improving, still a long way to go but it is coming.

No longer can we walk away, we must run. Remove the motive power.

We are actually really far down the road, but not for mass use. THe reason being what MICROSOFT did when they stopped their A.I. from going… FULL Ahem… Bar talk.

Follow the link, she is pretty good for a chat bot.

I am going to Predict something else, most A.I. bots will have a human component. There will be a human input to the A.I. for questions needing random reasoning. After time, it will develop and learn, and use this data to within its scope to start making WANT to chat.

But it will have to develop a need to do that. That is going to take a little bit of Organic circuitry modeling.

That is why Animals that talk like parrots are the first real step. We have about 4 year old intelligence right now as far as A.I is concerned.

The real problem is that no one has Cracked an A.I. that WANTS something without being told to do so.

As soon as that happens, or is modeled, its going to LEAP FROG!

The reason why I ask about A.I. is that I’d like to see an alternative for men. Instead of having only two choices, commitment to a female, OR abstinence, I’d like to see a 3rd alternative, “The fem-bot”.
“She” would fetch our morning coffee, do various chores, provide sex, and speak only when spoken to.
Thus, we could say, be quiet now, I’m trying to watch the game.

True A.I. would know it’s time to massage your feet. Bring you a Cold drink, or understand that you are actually needing more than a wet hole.

But the people who DO DO THIS programing? The bots are not made to love you but kill you.

A.I. is going to have to be based on a gay man. Let me explain.

If you based A.I. on a woman, it would never want to do anything.

Search for “Turing test”, is a test created by Alan Turing to test if an artificial intelligence can fool real humans into thinking it is a human, and all interactions between them are made by a conversation.

Every year a lot of progress is made, since video cards become cheap and accessible, deep learning and convolutional neural networks become faster and affordable. So a lot of fields inside the IA field archived some good progress.

IMHO in the next 30 years it will be a commodity to have a sex robot that you can talk about machine learning, computer programming or even physics with !
