Good news for some, perhaps bad news for others – a new Quantic Dream game has been released:

I tend to hold a more negative view of the games produced by this developer, and so I tend not to buy them. Instead I usually just watch others play them, and these are people I typically enjoy.

That being said, I’ve never agreed with them 100%. Their insistence that David Cage is an outright bad person based on some relatively “creepy” or controversial content in his games seems a bit extreme to me. With recent news about #metoo bs in regards to him and some employees, it makes it even more difficult to place judgement, given how many of these claims never have solid evidence.

From the two parts that this channel put up so far, there’s nothing specifically to do with men’s rights, but it’s more of the trope of artificial intelligence being viewed as equal to humanity. Seems that being analogous to racial and minority issues comes with the territory, despite Cage having denied the link.

It’s not much for me to go on, so I’d like to get some others’ thoughts on it, if you’ve played or seen further ahead. Personally, it feels pretty generic, but at the same time I also don’t feel it’s quite as absurd as some of the more out there stories. For example, I think games like Nier Automata or Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided have done it better, but in the interest of being interesting, might have lost a bit of a sense of “realism”, if I can call it that. Their plots are pretty specific, I suppose is the best way I can put it.

Seems they’ve come a long way since Omikron, however there’s also the question of whether that’s due to less input from Cage. It remains to be seen, for me at least.
