I have dealt with people like this in my professional life. They will hire a consultant to have someone to point to and “see, he agrees with me.”

All you can do with someone like that is speak the truth. I would have no problem with “shutting up”, as a professional, for three reasons.

1: Why waste my time with someone who’s ears are almost as closed as their mind ?
2: The check still cashes at the bank.
3: When the inevitable FAIL happens, I can laugh freely knowing “I told you so !”
