Hey guys I just seen this video on youtube and I think it may be interesting to some of you…

It doesn’t really “debunk” the paleo diet. It more or less just clarifies some things. I found it pretty fascinating. I hope you do too.

I also wanted to share the following chart that compares the human digestive system to carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores:

    herbivores

It seems pretty obvious that our entire digestive system is geared more toward plants than animals.

Personally I love grass-fed beef and wild salmon and all that.

However the idea that we are built to eat MEAT MEAT MEAT all day and all night seems pretty retarded if you just examine our teeth, saliva, stomach, intestines, etc.

Let me know what you guys think.

    Side note:

I used to date this girl back in the day, and I remember her dad literally refused to eat any plants at all.

It was always MEAT MEAT MEAT. He considered it “masculine” and hyper-manly to eat meat 24/7. Plants were for wussies in his mind.

Long story short: The guy was morbidly obese, wheelchair bound with a severe case of type 2 diabetes. He actually had to get his foot amputated because of his poor health. Constantly in and out of the hospital. Very weak human being.

For those of you that are unaware, type 2 diabetes is 100% caused by diet and can be completely reversed by switching to a vegan diet.

If being a fat, 1-legged cripple in your 50’s is your idea of “Manly”, then go for it. Not me.

Some quack is always coming out with the latest fad diet and pretty soon celebs and every one else (meaning mostly average chicks) are lapping it up.

People just don’t want to hear, eat a well balanced diet of non processed foods and watch the artificial sugars and trans fats.

Too simple for them – must be something more

Combine this with a regular exercise (GASP!) program
while cutting out smoking and limiting alcohol.

Thats another point quacks leave out, diet alone is not enough.

Personally I love grass-fed beef and wild salmon and all that.

Good on ya for that,so do I

Try some wild game too if you haven’t already

Lifes a bitch, but you don't have to marry one!

My favorite quote on dieting is

“I could take a 6 year old to a grocery store and have them point out good food and bad food. So I don’t need to teach you about it. You already know what you need to do.”

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.

Yes keep it simple. Although it’s pretty fascinating to look at what our ancestors actually ate. It’s more of a curiousity then anything for me.

It’s kind of hilarious that these paleo guys tell you to eat grass fed beef and broccoli and other s~~~ that didnt even exist back then…

With the obvious biological clues within our digestive system, one can only conclude a PLANT-BASED DIET is the logical choice.

For me I’m not too strict with myself. I like meat and modern snackage.

I try to avoid the worst of the worst though: transfat, fast food, sugars, dairy, alcohol, drugs.

Combine that with regular exercise and most importantly relaxation and stress-reduction, and you’re doing better then 90% of the population.

I took an interest in nutrition many years ago, but my motivation was less about being a health freak as it was knowing what foods to look for in a survival situation.

Dense starchy carbohydrates, Protein, Fat, and vitamin C are your essentials to look for. A human can survive without meat but not without plants.

Our diets evolved to process meat and vegetable matter. Over the millennia our cranial development lead to more opportunities for meat. This in turn lead to better brain development.

Our diet should be one of a lot of vegetable matter and some meat. Meat every day is not necessary unless you are athletically training or doing heavy manual labor. One of the downsides to modern culture is that the carbohydrates we consume are so highly processed that we can metabolize the nutrients much better than in the past. That plus highly refined sugar and massive overeating we wind up with the morbidly obese we see today.

It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion, it is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning; it is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

Very true. Grass-fed red meat is packed with nutrients. Same with wild salmon. Poultry is generally a lower quality meat, however organic free-range chicken eggs are an amazing superfood.

Omega 3s are also crucial, especially if you like having an abundance of energy and a fully-functioning brain.

I am going with science on this one, meaning I agree. When I find myself eating at a restaurant (very rare these days), I order a chef’s salad (or whatever they call it in that joint). No fried starch for me.

I can tell the same story about three or more men I have known. One of them “had to” eat junk food. His words, he “had to” eat that crap. Eating smart was out of the question for him. The diabetes brought him to a bad end, as it did to the others I am thinking of.

I also know of success stories. People who eat right can defeat diabetes, and it is not hard at all.

There are some physical anthropologists who hypothesize that our ancient ape ancestors were shoreline feeders since the bounty of the ocean is full of Omega 3 they benefited from the nutrients and developed evolutionary traits which made them the ancestors to neanderthal and cro-magnon. This is a hypothesis since there is no way to travel back in time (yet) and observe.

Yet chimps are known to hunt and eat meat regularly, although their diet consists more of plants (mostly fruits) than meat. Most of the other large apes eat meat occasionally, although not regularly. The smaller apes eat a lot of insects.

We cannot digest most plants, contrary to herbivores, where it’s just a matter of not eating poisonous herbs.

I think one of the biggest problems with our modern diet is that we’ve replaced fruits with sugary drinks that lack all the other nutrients.
