Oh, and while we’re here… I know a 28 year old woman who has zero marketable skills and $22K in student loan debt… and she likes to f~~~ without condoms.

How sexy is that? Not very, if you’ve got any sense at all.

She knows she will never pay it off.
So I can only assume its just another ” I don’t give a s~~~ ” attention seeking whore.

On the same note, Australian government has proposed to wipe out, write off University debts of 4.2
billion dollars a month ago. The move will pass legislation with little to no opposition.
61% of debt is female students.

I think the solution to the student loan problem is to allow them to be discharged in bankruptcy after 5-10 years out of school. After that time, if you still can’t pay it, discharge it. There’s still a chapter 7 means test.

Hell no they shouldn’t…why would you do anything other than borrow every penny they’d let you to attend the most expensive school you can get accepted to, and then run up every credit card you can get your hands after you graduate knowing its all going to get discharged in 5-10 years? You got idiots with mortgage sized debts, and there is no f~~~ing way they could pay it off in 5 years, what incentive would they have to even try?

The solution to stupidity isn’t to reward it, especially when they are more than willing to lend you way more money than tuition even costs. I know people that borrowed extra money to buy cars, go on vacations, and just so they didn’t even have to work part time while in school for spending money because it would cut into their study(party) time. We should be educating high schoolers about basic finance better, and we should be looking at the idiots who got buried in student debt for worthless degrees saying “Look, that person is an idiot and now their life sucks, don’t be like them,” not saying “look that person is an idiot so we just waived 180k worth of debt for them.”

Haha I was out with a group of friends a few weeks ago and somehow the topic of student loans came up. One of the guys was like “I have 16k left to pay off!” and was totally thrilled as it sounded like he’d been making some nice progress paying it down. The next three to open their mouths were all females with between 40,000 and one that just said over 100k. Two didn’t even give a s~~~…huge debt loads to them were just like eh, w/e. One of them is a few years older though and has obviously already had her first experience with what the wall feels like, and she was the only one who seemed even slightly concerned about her debt load. Its kind of obvious what the younger two plan on doing, and the older one has probably tried unsuccessfully and realizes as her SMV plummets so does the income of potential mates she can hook lol.

I must say though…I think student debt is one thing that is really turning a lot of people off of marriage. We all know the divorce laws are f~~~ed beyond all belief…the whole marrying later in life thing and different levels of student debt between people is really making people think about becoming legally and financially bound to a partner. Its not like you get married at 20, divorce at 25, and end up fighting over a few thousand worth of assets…its more like you get married at 30, divorce at 35, and your fighting over potentially hundreds of thousands of assets…why would you want to even risk it if 99% of those assets were yours as your partner only brought debt and a lower income to the marriage?
