    Dear OKCupid Tech Support,

I have noticed a hopefully minor problem with your computer system – your entire database of female client photographs appears to have been accidentally replaced by Weight Watchers’ database of  ‘Before’ pics.

    Yours Helpfully,

    CromIsMyGod (a client)

Hey, what did you expect from a free dating site? Victoria’s Secrets models?

Of course they look like BEFORE pictures from a WW ad – that’s where we get them!

    Just my little joke.

But it says a lot I think about the online dating scene – these women presumably want to attract a man (or they wouldn’t be on a site like OKCupid) but they don’t seem prepared to put any real effort into anything. A man just has to ‘love me for me’ (so long as he fulfills their 800 point list of criteria). I exaggerate perhaps, but this is how they comes across – lazy and entitled, which combined with their lack of attractiveness makes me wonder who the guys are who actually do contact them.

Also, their written profiles seem often identical! Do they cut and paste from each other? My favourite is when they list one of their ‘interests’ as ‘food’. Uh-huh, we kinda guessed that one.

from CromisMyGod: “… Do they cut and paste from each other?”

They’re wolves in sheep’s clothing.  Only the shepherd can tell one sheep from another- and I’m thinkin’ you’re not the shepherd.

@cromismygod – I got the joke, but I tried to follow up as if I was an OKCupid tech – and failed…

When I moved to the US, I signed for OKCupid (aka OKStupid) and realized right away it was a pool of psychiatric <span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>cases. </span>

<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>When did I realize it? When right at the bat, 5 women contacted me after seeing my profile photos. I’m overweight, don’t have a model’s face – but in the photos I was wearing a suit, giving a presentation at a conference. The photos spelled $$$ and they fell in the trap. Some of the women where surprisingly hot, others were average… good enough to bang after dinner.  They were all desperate for attention and at the time I was willing to give them that. </span>

<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>But like you mention, most looked like Weight Watchers’ “before” photos. I have dated a few BBWs in the past, but they were beautiful women in looks and in the way they behaved (at least in the beginning), and were a blast to be with them. Sadly, the ones in OKStupid had only the big woman part of the name. They were unattractive, uneducated, with tons of drama. They looked the worse and were usually the really entitled ones. After a few months with OKStupid (and dates with two REALLY CRAZY BITCHES), I simply got tired of the game and deleted my account.</span>

BTW, in OKStupid both guys and gals copy and paste their profiles from other people.
