WARNING: There are really no big spoilers here. But if you want to watch the show from a totally clean base you might want to pass on this.

Wasnt sure if this was the right spot for this thread and apologies to Keymaster if it isn’t. Has anyone caught Daredevil on Netflix? While there is much I like about the show there is much that grates on me as well. This aint your daddy’s Daredevil, but a 21st century progressives version. Especially two characters in particular. Foggy and Kingpin. Foggy who looks like a chubby Brad Pitt is an insufferable Mangina chump. He is basically a female character in a males body. The male version of the fat ugly chick who hangs around with her hot girlfriend hoping to get the scraps from her table. He is in love with and willingly lets himself be led around by the nose by a women who has clearly friendzoned him (and is in love with Murdock), is an emotional tampon for her and you half expect him to get into footed PJs and happily watch chick flicks with her while sharing a pint of ice cream. He is the kind of “Nice guy” that every woman claims to want but have no use for and would treat like s~~~ in reality. Every time he comes on screen I want to force him to come to this website. How this character survived growing up in the rough and tumble Irish Hells Kitchen of Yor is a mystery to me?

Kingpin. D’Onofrio as usual is amazing. He along with Gary Oldman and Kevin Spacey is one of the great character actors of our time. But his character is basically a fat, bald version of Michael Bloomberg. His big evil super villain plan? To gentrify Hells Kitchen. Really? Im mean really?? Thats it? By the way, Hells Kitchen is already gentrified. What sent Kingpin into his downward spiral of “evil”? His old man was an abusive drunk to him and his mother. If that was the key to unbridled evil then a quarter of the Kitchen (and half the population of America) would be evil super villains. Kingpin also meets a woman whom he falls for. A snobby, yuppie art gallery owner who s~~~ tests him to within an inch of his life. And he willingly takes it. Before you know it, she is picking out his suits!

MGTOWs these guys are not! To me they are the weakest part of the story. Otherwise its a great show. I admittedly am not very knowledgable on the history of, and characters of the original Daredevil as it was intended by the author. But I cant believe that this is what he had in mind as far as Foggy and Kingpin are concerned. End rant.

    OMG!
    FINALLY!

Have you also noticed how that EVERY!! and i mean EVERY! MALE MAIN CHARACTER on EVERY NETFLIX SERIES!
    Is an ULTRA MANGINA!

It has to be some sort of feminist propaganda… cause you just don’t choose beta mangina actors and place them in alpha roles not on purpose.

Watched the first 3 last night. I really enjoyed it and I typically don’t like comic books or their movie adaptations. It feels like ‘The Crow’ or ‘The Punisher’ and there are some great fights.

As for what you said Iggy, I try not to look at it that way, even though you are 100% correct.

Speaking of superheros, I feel like Batman from TDK series was too much of a female fantasy. Especially when he ends up with Catwoman. The “clean slate” idea sounds like a woman who wants to ignore her sexual history. So you have this billionaire man who is at the pinnacle of human creativity, courage, and conditioning, and he decides to be romantically interested in a woman who is desperate to run away from her past. This is tragic because it is a great quality of man to willingly sacrifice for a good cause, but to sacrifice for an unworthy cause is pathetic.

I wonder if this means comic book and other fantasy media are more being targeted towards women. In the case of your Daredevil description it could also be cuckold manginas writing for other manginas, who know that the nerds watching are submissive men who fantasize about being in power and getting female attention, and the female attention they relate to the most is friendzoning.
