I accidentally bumped into CrossFit on YouTube without knowing what it was while looking up workout videos. I clicked on one of them and saw what these guys do in this thing called CrossFit, and I was amazed and yet intimidated by what these guys are doing.

I think CrossFit is as amazing as it is insane. Those guys may have the most ripped bodies (look at Dan Bailey in the above video), but they kill themselves to do it. Now I want to look like that, and I wish I did when I was in my 20s, but I won’t kill myself to do it. Right now my goal is to lose weight, rebuild my confidence level (long-term unemployment is a real confidence killer).

Anyway, there’s a lot of videos on YouTube showing CrossFit competitions, and workouts and again, I think it’s crazy to what these guys are doing to get in shape and win competitions. I will say what I love about CrossFit are the T-Shirts on eBay. They have to coolest sayings and slogans on them.

I’m surprised this topic didn’t go anywhere.

Just say no, to crossfit. It’s horrible on your joints and if you go to a local crossfit gym you’ll see plenty of fat out of shape shlubs acting like Arnold in his prime. Total joke / fad.

If you want a body like that you need to eat right and exercise. Sounds simple but there is no magic way or absolute best way to get in shape. Everyone has different bodies, time, and abilities.

If you want some help crafting a workout plan / diet let me know. I’m no trainer but have been lifting for 25 years, including a most recent come back from back surgery.

I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?

Well my gym is about, if it hasn’t already, starting CrossFit soon. I want to try it out, but I don’t think I’m going to do it regularly, because just looking at it is brutal. My brother did CrossFit for a while in California, and he said it was very painful on his joints. Yes I would like the kind of body like the guy you see in the video above, I don’t know if I’m willing to destroy myself to get it. Hell I can barely motivate myself to even start.

Crossfit = Crosss~~~. No gains. Those motherf~~~ers teach people that bad form is good that doing endless amount of reps is a good thing. STAY CLEAR OF IT! If you want evidence that crosss~~~ does not work take a look at your average crossfiter. Jep. No gains.

Just take a look their form on deadlifts. F~~~ing horrifying. Their lower back will be utterly destroyed soon enough. And dont get me started on their “kip pullups) f~~~ing hell.

Watch and enjoy yourself. This guy is pure gold.

Always going big, Yeah you know the kid, Call me haymaker.

Fair enough, give it shot and see what you think. Keep in mind it’s not just the immediate injures that will get in the way but long term repeated abuse of the body.

    @haymaker, thanks for the vid.

I’m not saying I’ll do CrossFit. What I want to do is a one-time demo of it when it becomes available at my gym, if it hasn’t become available yet. There’s no flipping way I can do what these people do; not with my body type. But still, I would like to have the body like the guy in the video I provided. Look at those beastly arms and that big round chest. What real man wouldn’t want to beast himself up?

    …not with my body type..

Body type shmoditype, time, patients, proper diet, and exercise will bring you there. I’m not bulked out, nor do I want to be, but currently at 10-12% body fat.

Well yesterday I tried it out for the first time at my gym and I will say that I will not do that again. I had already done an hour workout before the CrossFit, and not knowing what I was getting myself into, I went and did it. The warm up alone made me feel like I was killing my body, then I along with a partner had to do 90 (seemed a lot longer) seconds on a station, then get 1 minute to switch to the next station, then another 90 seconds, and it went on for seemed like an eternity. Since I’m not in good shape to begin with, I was only able to do half of it by the time I stopped with a bad stomach ache. I literally almost threw up in the gym. I had to sit down in the lobby and calm down. My arms felt so bad after that I struggled to drive home. When I got home I literally crashed in bed, and it took hours to get me out. Ironically, I’m not feeling as sore as I thought I would.

I did learn a lesson after that; don’t be in too big a hurry to try something you don’t know if you’re ready for. But the thing with me is I tend to try things out before I give my opinions on it, just like with new foods. Like I said, I wont’ be doing that again, at least not anytime soon.

I’m bringing this topic back, because I saw a CrossFit workout that looks tough yet cool. I won’t try this yet, because I still have to work into it. But just look at this guy’s massive arms, and fully shredded muscle body! What real man athlete wouldn’t want that for themselves? By the way the guy in the video below is Dan Bailey (from first topic’s post video) and is a CrossFit competitor. I wonder if he competed in the 2016 games; I didn’t see him when I was watching from the bar last Friday.

You can get that definition with diet alone. I’d focus on bringing down your weight before bulking up.

Personally thats too big, you could be a more efficient fighter with training and less mass. Would you rather look tough or be tough?

You ever look for a kickboxing place around you?

At least my weight is finally under 250; first time since early 2012, before the side effects of Risperdal. That f~~~ing medication put in 35 pounds in 3 weeks. I used to be stuck at 215, and I went to 250 all in the same month. I forced myself off it, because of the rapid weight gain. And I’ve been struggling to take it off ever since.

I personally don’t think it’s too big. Not to sound gay, but I think those muscles are sexy the way they are. CrossFit athlete Dan Bailey (in those above videos) is my CrossFit hero. They took 1st place back in 2011, back when he was only in it for about a year. I’ve seen workout videos with this guy, and boy does he workout hard. Even when badly fatigued Dan Bailey just keeps going on and on and on with extreme amount of weights. I’ve never seen anything like it. He just goes on and on until he literally collapses to the floor, barely moving. It’s no wonder why he looks the way he does; just works out for many hours a day non stop. I was disappointed that he didn’t qualify for the 2016 Games.

No I haven’t found any kickboxing. I may not know kickboxing, but I do know ca-razy.

I do want to make note that I DO NOT DO CROSSFIT; I JUST WATCH AND ADMIRE IT. I did get my CrossFit Open 16 black shirt in last week and it looks great. It looks like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/262477017458?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I feel and look more athletic wearing it.
