Yes indeed mystery solved. Women cannot differentiate between fantasy and reality. She wanted attention and in her fantasy world she got attention. When confronted with the reality that its all in her head she did what all women do—fail to admit they are wrong. So there are two problems here:

a) Her fantasy world of unreality,
b) her inability to admit error
