Under pressure and gobbling pizza or chocolate? It may not be your fault, according to Japanese researchers who have isolated the neurons that drive a craving for carbs.

The team at Japan’s National Institute for Physiological Sciences found that activating neurons known to respond to social stress increased the appetite in mice for carbohydrates.

——While I love chocolate, I do not crave carbs,…I do some times crave protein foods- beef, shrimp, fish, or turkey.

Personally, I have noticed that Carbs CRAVE Carbs.

The More I have, the more I desire.

Restrict carbs, and my Cravings decrease as well.

Bread, fruits and veggies are the only carbs I really have. Nobody will take bread from me.

I do not crave carbs,…I do some times crave protein foods- beef, shrimp, fish, or turkey.

I noticed the same, I always crave meat and chili peppers, salty food (rather than sweet) and whisky. I don’t like sweet stuff and only eat it rarely. The problem with sweet is that one gets hungry again in a really short time, does not matter how many calories eaten.

And many of us know the joy of a fresh baked loaf of homemade bread… damn!

Now I need to dig out the breadmaker. Of course, I eat the whole loaf every time.

I go for a high cocoa dark chocolate now. Regular stuff is too sweet for me.

Check out a guy on YouTube called Dr Robert Lustig.

He explains carbs perfectly and why you get hungry quickly after eating carbs or sugar.

He’s an endocrinologist in San Francisco.

    Talks a lot of sense.
