If I had the money, I’d take a giant s~~~ and put it on a rocket that is destined to leave the solar system. Then in a billion years it might land on a planet, and all the stuff in that turd might evolve from microbes into an intelligent life form.

When you consider all of the conditions that need to take place in order for life to thrive on earth, it is entirely possible that Earth is the only planet with life. Even then, they odds would put that another planet that has life would be so far away that we may never know about it. And since as far as we know, interstellar travel may not even be physically possible, it may be irrelevant to begin.

I think all the movies and tv shows, along with media/scientist who like to claim “if you find water, there must be life” have distanced people from reality.

Even though I believe the moon is a dead satellite, I’m inclined to agree with Knarley Bob.

While it may be possible that ours is the only planet with life, I believe it to be highly improbable. With all of the billions upon billions of stars in the galaxy and the seemingly endless amount of planets orbiting all those stars, I’m moved to believe that it is more likely impossible that Earth is the only habitable globe.

Yes, in order for there to be life, the air, the temperature, the moisture, the light…..many conditions must be just right. However, considering that not only does our galaxy have billions of stars and planets, but the billions of other galaxies have billions of stars and planets in them, the odds would seem to me to be in favor of life elsewhere.

I agree with you about the distance. Even if there are several other planets with life on them, they will never be discovered in our lifetime.

Perhaps “life” as WE (humans) know it, isn’t considered as “LIFE” by anything else in time/space at all?
What if “we” are considered a rare, deadly, “life” ending, and highly infectious virus that has been luckily isolated from anything and everything else in the great void of space/time?

Maybe we are what space/time is truly terrified of somehow getting loose in the cosmos.

Well… extrapolating… if I was an alien, I would do an anal probe to find out what a person had been eating. One thing that is unique about humans compared to other animals on the planet is that humans seem to be able to eat almost any thing, especially if it is cooked. You can learn a lot about a person from what they were eating.

Well there is 1/2 the moon that we never see from earth, and if you were an alien species that wanted to study the evolution of another planet without directly interfering a moon would be a great place to setup shop.

Also I find it curious that we made six manned moon landings and then suddenly stopped. It’s the one floating rock that we can actually get to, in order to study proto-planets, mineral composition , why aren’t we mining up there? There’s just all this potential but it seems like it’s a no-go zone.

So Idunno, i’m not sure i believe there’s an alien base there or not, i just find that there’s some suspicious coincidences surrounding the moon.
