    Dear brothers,

i just realized that i’m done with consuming most media.

For many years i used to be a gamer and also had a big movie collection. I feel that youtube, movies and video games are not fulfilling any longer. Instead i rediscovered my productivity after just idling in mediocrity for a couple of years. It is more rewarding to me to live in the real world and actually do something rather than just passively consume it. It also helps to start reading books again to get my brain back in working condition.

Not judging anyone, it’s just my personal observation about myself. Feels good to grab me old guitar and switch off media once in a while.

Do you feel it is more rewarding to actually do things yourself and not just sitting on the couch watching youtube all day long?

    The best to you,

    John

Death to Videodrome ! Long live the new flesh !

Honestly, I still play some games and watch movies. But I do tend to avoid ‘news’ both on tv and online.

    Kill TV! DEAD!

Imagine the lost man-hours that go by as men are glued to the set and fed manginavision on every channel, every day?

I stopped video games when X-Box made it a necessity to have an internet connection and pay a monthly access fee. I returned Halo 3 after arguing with the manager that the game no longer works offline and nowhere on the labeling does it mention additional costs and fees for it to work. I gave away my X-Box that day.

CD movies I don’t mind that much because there’s no commercials and all the torture they deliver.

Absolutely stop wasting time on things that don’t add quality, knowledge, independence, and material comfort to your life. In other words stop wasting time pleasing women or catering to their narcissistic wants and needs.

A women will do more damage than a 1974 Zenith TV (living-room model with wood cabinet) dropped on your head from a skyscraper!

Had a good laugh about that one. Yeah, i know it sounds like old man yelling at clouds. It wasn’t meant in absolute terms like do it or never do it again. I had in mind that i lived far too long as a passive zombie. The addiction/habit from watching TV was replaced by hanging out on YouTube. It is difficult for me to de-programm myself and actually do activities. This could even be playing a game instead of watching a lets play.

Damn, my count is way to high. Thanks for the reminder and the kick in the head! Helps me to not fall back in old habits.

Check out createspace. Amazon book and kindle publishing.

Thanks for that! Never heard of createspace before and i will check it out. I am late to the party and discovered this kindle stuff only a few days ago. Absolutely amazing how affordable it is. For instance a paperback is about 20 bucks and the kindle version only costs around 6-7 bucks. And just for the record i love virtualisation because it really suits a Digital Nomads lifestyle.
