Have actually been planning it for 20K. And in this case 25K is better because not everyone has an avatar.

You need about that many to get the many different shades, otherwise you get too many repeats. I actually did my face once (on a poster) using frames of the original Star Wars trilogy. Each movie gave 7000 still images…. extracting ONE PER SECOND of film.

And roughly 21,000 were necessary to make it look realistic.

It would be cool to use the big MGTOW metal logo and make all the avatars black and white. Zoom out and it would look SICK. You also can’t “choose” which avatars will display. It’s mathematical and uses a special algorithm — which calculates the % of light and dark in each tile and decides which tile / 21000 is best to use. But this way, if it’s black and white it would use as many as possible.

It starts by filling the pic with a “best guess” pretty quickly, but then takes many hours to sweep through each image and position a “better” tile to use. Depending now level of realism and how many tiles you have, it can take 2 overnights before it’s done. Probably faster now.

It’s 10X as awesome Mecklot did it. Because he did it manually. We could write a script that says “loop through all members who have an avatar and save them into a folder”.

But he had to collect each one manually and place it manually.

Truth be told, I got the idea to make a mosaic of your avatars in the shape of the MGTOW logo. However, it was too insane for me to handle, the colors of the avatars had too much variety, and I was too far into making the picture to pursue the idea.

But that would look amazing!

If you do another stitch on this you WOULD be insane. What is that 1000 avatars you used? You would have to go through all the profiles and drag them to your desktop. Then position them one at a time on a grid in Photoshop….. I can’t even imagine the dedication required for that…..
