I’ve been a civil war reenactor many years. I’ve refought every battle, been an extra in several major motion pictures and documentaries, raised money for historic site preservation, and published magazine articles. Now I’m starting to write a book. It’s been a big part of my life for decades. I blame the media. They are determined to destroy American history to ram their socialist agenda down this nations throat. These statues have stood for a hundred years not hurting anything, this one was in a cemetery, where veterans are buried. Now all of a sudden its evil. I draw the line at the national battlefields. Those monuments were placed there by the vets themselves and they tell the story. They must remain for future generations.

I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Amazing! These old statues have been standing for over a hundred years not bothering anyone, then all of a sudden in 2017/18, liberal punk college kids get offended by something in history and feel they need to rip it down. These are uneducated spoiled little s~~~s who need to go back to school and learn something about life instead of feeling butthurt by everything they don’t like.

By the way, these are Democrat kids doing these damages, but aren’t they destroying statues that represented their party in history?

I think what should happen is they should jail these little punks for at least 15 years and rebuild those statues. Too bad our history is being erased by these kids. Obviously the school system failed them badly.

Wizzard’s Pupil and Puffin Stuff, you have hit the nail on the head here. This sort of thing is the act of a totalitarian power, trying to re-write history in its own image. It is deeply saddening and very dumb because without your history how can you ever know where you came from or why you are here in terms of your ideas?

However it does give us reason to take heart -history teaches us a clear truth here -every totalitarian regimen that ever tried to rewrite history succumbed to history itself. It is often a sign of a tyranny that is starting to go to far and the backlash will be coiling even now. This SJW crap is just a sort of puritanism, like the Taliban were spouting, like Cromwell’s soldiers were practising when they smashed rood screens and stained glass. Cromwell canceled Christmas but Cromwell died and Tumbledown Dick was soon deposed. The king came back and everyone had a good time. The best cure for puritanism is more puritanism.

I don’t consider myself a conspiracy theory loon…but consider this…

As mentioned above, why have these statues not been a problem until RIGHT NOW?

The entire left, virtually all of media, and establishment Republicans ALL, with a smug smirk, were POSITIVE Trump was a clown that could not win. Well, he did. Now those folks have, since Nov 2016, spent every waking hour trying to show Trump is unfit for office, the election was illegitimate, he must be removed from office, and a “lesson” must be taught that such “outside the beltway” and non-political-establishment rhetoric will not be tolerated. Trump supporters must be cast as dumb hillbilly, trailer park, KKK, gun-nut, racist, sexist bigots.

I believe whoever is destroying these statues are either paid, promised something, or endorsed by the folks I just mentioned…they are placing baits and lures trying to get a guy wearing a MAGA hat to say something or do something in “retaliation” to the destruction of these monuments. If they could get a white male from the South to say or do something “off color” then they would make big news out of it. If no one takes the bait, they might even stage it with actors. All to make Trump, and all Trump supporters, learn their place.
