If you turn on the television you will probably hear an advertisement for a gym or fitness club. If not you will
probably hear about how overweight or unhealthy the average American is. Either way you are hearing people’s
beliefs, perceptions, and observations about physical fitness. But what is physical fitness? It is the adaptation of one’s body to the environment. In that respect the overweight office worker who sits at
a computer all day is no way more or less fit than the professional marathon runner or a strongman athlete. Both’s
bodies are adapted to the environment they live in. Both bodies are under extreme levels of stress. Both bodies will
inherently develop physical abnormalities based on their conditions. Sitting all day, as the office worker does, can
cause abnormalities in posture and lead to deteriation of the back and surrounding joints.
Lifting heaving objects or running long distances causes abnormalites in posture and leads to deteriation
of the back and surrounding joints. In the same respect both lifestyles can extend lifespans. The office worker’s lack of “physical stress” can extend his
life and preserve his health. The marathon runners/weight lifter increase in “physical stress” can cause adaptations that
can strengthen the body and preserve it into old age.Looking at both categories one can the similarities and differences in both variations of physical lifestyles. One common
trend between the two, is the necessary need for adaptation and the need for moderation. Adaptation is a result
of habit defined by both the environment and one’s will to conform to it.somebody get jeremy renner a red pill quick. damn.
? Jeremy Renner?
Being detail oriented? or over complicating everything? trying to hard to appear logical?
But what is physical fitness? The only question you asked. Then answered it yourself
whats your point? Does this sentence make sense?
“Looking at both categories one can the similarities and differences in both variations of physical lifestyles.”
My father once told me, “work smarter son not harder” I know he meant, always find the most simple solution to every problem. I have not been to college. Probably why I have to work with my hands and back more than my brain. I believe your brain is working harder than it should. You type fast? plenty wpm my guess. Your brain gets ahead of your fingers even though they are fast. Your brain also gets sidetracked and off subject easy. I noticed this on your post about critical thinking. I say mental fitness is part of physical fitness.
One day when I was ten years old I was laying on the floor doing some fifth grade homework for school, when my father walked up near enough to see what subject and lesson I was working on. It was health class teaching the five senses. He nudged me with his foot and said ” son, that book is wrong we have 7 senses”
He was correct can you name them?
I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Kind mockery at the well intentioned, but unfettered cruelty towards those would be prison guards of my creative possibilities. This so as to learn as much from misunderstanding as from understanding. Taking pleasure in worthy opponents and making language fluid and flowing like a river yet pointed and precise as a dagger. Contradicts the socialistic purpose of language and makes for a wonderful linguistic dance, A verbal martial art with constant parries that hone the weapon that is the two edged sword of my mouth.
“Looking at both categories one can the similarities and differences in both variations of physical lifestyles.”
This is a concluding sentence to wrap it all up.
The thread is about how physical fitness is misunderstood in today’s cultural setting. It is not about 6 pack abs or a big bench press but about adapting to your specific life circumstances. Regardless of your physical lifestyle choice you will advantages and disadvantages. There is no “completely” fit person.
This article is about “conceptions” of physical fitness. It is about a common sense view of physical fitness rather than listening to what is said in the media.
But what is physical fitness? The only question you asked. Then answered it yourself
Yes, because it is an article.
whats your point? Does this sentence make sense?
“Looking at both categories one can the similarities and differences in both variations of physical lifestyles.”
It is a summary sentence. Different forms of fitness obviously have difference but can also have similarities.
My father once told me, “work smarter son not harder” I know he meant, always find the most simple solution to every problem. I have not been to college. Probably why I have to work with my hands and back more than my brain.
In this statement I am under the impression that: You did not take your father’s advice and “use your brain.” Which is why you are stuck in the career field you are in.
I believe your brain is working harder than it should.
What do you know about mental work you admit you don’t practice it.
You type fast? plenty wpm my guess.
What does this have to do with anything.
Your brain gets ahead of your fingers even though they are fast. Your brain also gets sidetracked and off subject easy. I noticed this on your post about critical thinking. I say mental fitness is part of physical fitness.
There article is a very simple explanation about how physical fitness is misconceived. That is all. It is an “opinion” article I wrote because of my interest in physical fitness.
You want to talk about sidetrack? Why are you bringing up a critical thinking thread on a thread about physical fitness? You talk about mental fitness, but the majority of your post is about things separate from the content of the article. Your father’s advice, criticisms about my writing style when you don’t even follow you own advice, bringing up separate threads, your schoolyard experiences and the list goes on. All these previously stated examples are how you sidetracked the article.
The problem is that this article is very simple. It is about physical fitness. But you want to bring up everything except physical fitness. If you want to discuss physical fitness, cool with me. But you have not at all. And the thing is no one is forcing you to read it or follow my posts, so why are you upset?
You should have took your father’s advice and used your head more.

Anonymous42Hey John, what about the mental aspects, flabby body, flabby mind? The chair dweller person playing videos, or porn all day, tends to be lazy and self destructive. While the person exerting phisical effort has a healthy body, and a healthy mind, and tends to be productive. Meaning that ones mind determines one’s body. With enough abuse, one’s body determines one’s mind, ie: Mind over body vs. Body over mind. Or a vague mind over matter (the matter being your body).
Hey John, what about the mental aspects, flabby body, flabby mind?
Stephen hawking is a physical cripple, yet a genius physicist.
The chair dweller person playing videos, or porn all day, tends to be lazy and self destructive.
Video games and porn require very little critical thinking and provide little “mental exercise” for the most part. You are correct in this statement.
While the person exerting phisical effort has a healthy body, and a healthy mind, and tends to be productive.
Physical and mental exercise have been found to have a “correlative” relationship not a “causal” one. This statement is incorrect because there are many examples of excellent athletes that lack the ability to think for themselves/critical thinking/reflective thinking/etc.
Meaning that ones mind determines one’s body. With enough abuse, one’s body determines one’s mind, ie: Mind over body vs. Body over mind. Or a vague mind over matter (the matter being your body).
I don’t think one goes against the other rather, as I have stated, they both compliment eachother. One can be strong and not smart. Or smart and not strong. These are obvious statements. Can ones increase in one aspect influence them in the other? Yes because they “compliment” eachother, not “cause”. Could the improvement of one not improve the other? Yes.
Which is my point, physical fitness should be view as an adaption rather than a set standard. This thread is more about the false view of fitness portrayed by the media.

Anonymous42Meaning that a strong working brain burns calories as apposed to a numskull.
A strong body can employ a numskull brain.I understand the concept of critical thinking to the point of utter frustration. A futile expense is exerted when trying to examine the illogical with logic. My mind tends to eat the meat and spit out the bones, or reject it entirely. Mind scrubbing false information from deep seeded pockets of your subconsciousness is a form of critical thinking in and of it’s self, and it’s what I believe MGTOWS have in common. .
MG-Tower:
I really don’t understand what you are trying to get at nor the tone your are taking. Literally, I am not trying to be a dick this time. The point of the “opinion” article was that the media driven fitness industry promotes a certain philosophy of what fitness should be. There is nothing I said that was not common sense. My point, or at least my intention, is that when viewing fitness one should take a more practical look at it rather than try to copy what one sees on television. This is not a “deep” article, nor was it meant to be making the “illogical” logical. It is just simple observations and a practice in writing.
I am not upset at all.. And you can’t upset me even attacking my mental fitness or my chosen type of work. The sentence is missing something maybe the word “SEE”was left out because your mind ahead of fingers? I don’t know but it makes sense to me this way “Looking at both categories one can }SEE{ the similarities and differences in both variations of physical lifestyles.
The word notice could have been used or any of these synonyms observe, perceive, discern, deduce, ascertain, detect, spy, discover or consider. this sentence is incomplete and missing something reread it yourself and put any of my suggested words between the two words ” can & the”
“Looking at both categories one can the similarities and differences in both variations of physical lifestyles.”
I won’t be sorry your upset as that’s not my problem, it’s yours. If your not upset why the attack? I gave you no advice. I was just trying to figure out why and what it was all about which you answered with this:
There article is a very simple explanation about how physical fitness is misconceived. That is all. It is an “opinion” article I wrote because of my interest in physical fitness.there article ha ha ha ha ha over there article under there article maybe you meant to write “The article”
don’t be angry dude. Site, hearing, touch, taste and smell are the five senses the health book was teaching. My father gave two more senses. You could be missing these. Horse sense and common sense. If I was to give any advice I would say proofread your post closer and refrain from attacking people you know little about. Although I only have high school. I did take my fathers advice and teachings to heart. The best thing he did was teach me to educate myself.
I am writing a book about my childhood and my memory is my personal conscious limitation. although I consider mine a happy childhood it was not without problems and tribulations. Writing about the rough times is some laborious hacking, but by doing this I sharpen my skills as a writer while at the same time make good use of some bad memories. If the pen is mightier than the sword then I am getting ready to go on the offensive. When I was having a bit of writers block I got away from the book to pen this.
VICTORIOUS COLLOQUIALISM or ARMY OF CREATIVE EXPRESSION
You could fearfully move through the uncharted underbrush of your own conscious limitations, laboriously hacking at the woes and agony of an unfulfilled problematic existence, to find that the causes of your tribulations are like smooth sharpening stones you gather along the way. Sadness, Suffering, distress and grief should hone one edge of your mental machete while heartache sorrow anguish and regret sharpen the opposite edge, resulting in a mind over matter attitude so finely grind-ed, filed and stropped, to a hardened diamond like edge, that life can offer up no problem or barrier impervious to it’s attack. I have done this myself and attack I shall. Showing no mercy or quarter. My words and wits causing mirth and laughter to jump to my side like fearless allies joining in my ever growing army of accumulated lexicon. My personal sling-blade of jargon, tempered by the outlandish flames of dialect, will courageously carve out new and spontaneous paths through the treacherous brambles of my optimistic future. (OMROT) HARPOMASON
And the writers block was broken. Dad gave me a deep love of reading and said never skip over words you don’t understand. Why would I bring up critical thinking? You and VileNord from the start got off into math. I alone was the only one to post the definition of critical thinking. Is the definition of the subject at hand relevant? I think so. Understand I am not upset, just pointing out obvious truths in your post.
(OMROT)=I publish these small bits of writing at another site and call them: Off My Rocker Original Thoughts.
I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me.
