A bachelor in arts in theater. No wonder she doesn’t have a paying job.

One thing that young people have to realize is just because you have a degree doesn’t mean you will make any money.

It is up to the individual to do his/her due diligence on a chosen degree plan before ever enrolling.

A degree in basket weaving = poverty.

A degree in engineering/doctor/attorney/etc = income.

It’s just that simple. My brother would call a degree in theater a M R S degree. As in she is majoring in how to be a Mrs. rather than a Ms.

Give her a little time. I sure she will find a beta drone to absorb her school debt while she is pushing out puppies.

If only that is possible. I know a computer science/IT degree can end up not being worth much, if in the wrong context. I hope I land a state job at least (I am trying to line up interviews). I do have experience, but it is dated. College is WAY overrated. It isn’t just that it is the wrong major. Even in nursing, there had been like a 40% unemployment rate for graduates, as they want experience.

When I was in college, the theater and dance majors were a happy hunting ground for horny undergrads. The girls had loose morals and lots of free time. I wonder what happened to them all? Coffee shop counter clerk is what I’m guessing.

I never understood the whole “college experience” thing. You are there to get an education so you can get a job. If you want to party and have lots of sex there are cheaper ways to do it. The way I looked at it I didn’t give a f~~~ if my college years were overly busy and not much fun because I was setting myself up to enjoy my next 50 years. Had you explained that concept to this girl before her freshman year she would have looked at you like you were nuts, and not cared one bit. 4 years after graduating she’s whining about her debt and a useless degree…go figure. Unfortunately this is the mentality that probably about 3/4 of college students have…easy loans + fun and they’ll worry about paying it back later…only for a bunch of them that turns into them bitching relentlessly about having to pay their s~~~ back.

I’m Aussie, down here you don’t need a college/University degree to get ahead in fact most tradesmen earn 6 figure amounts down here.

My understanding of America though is without one you are relegated to working minimum paid jobs without one, that said most college grads don’t even seem to work in the field they studied. I know a woman in New York with a degree in Tourism and she works as a masseuse. So again, money well spent.

College is day care for adolescents whose parents got brainwashed into thinking that they must send kids to college and pay for it.

Public schools suppose to teach you the skills and discipline necessary for you to educate yourself further.
Because today most of the knowledge is at your fingertips, but people still go to colleges – this is a testament of failure of public schooling. It also proves the point that modern education has very little to do with education, but more with indoctrination and profit seeking.
You don’t spend 16+ years of your life in order to learn something useful. This is a giant waste of time and money

Meanwhile 2/3 college students are female. So slightly more than 2/10 male students at college are just there to party. And 8/10 male college students are there to work.

That seems about right. It certainly jibes with the 80/20 figure and also my own observations.

Sort of…if you go into a trade in America you can make a good living. Tradesman actually make more here than a lot of college educated people working in their fields end up making, its just a lot of people don’t want to do work that might resemble actual labor, work weird hours, or work much overtime…they want a cozy 9-5 office job.

As far as college grads working out of their fields its mostly true for people who get bulls~~~ degrees. Wtf is that woman you know going to do with a degree in tourism? Be a travel agent? Anyone can be their own travel agent with the internet these days, and if she did want to be one she didn’t need college for it lol. Or the girl in the article…what are you going to do with a theater degree, be a famous hollywood actor?

The other thing here, is there are plenty of jobs you can do to make decent money with no degree…they just aren’t the most fun or prestigious jobs. Trades obviously being one example, trucking another. You can make a halfway decent wage doing mindless manual labor still as long as you aren’t living in an area over run by illegal immigrants working under the table. I’ve even had a couple retail jobs in the past where they paid the part timers like 7-8 an hour, full timers like 9-12 an hour, and management trainees like 14+. In order to be a management trainee at either of the retail places I worked you literally had to be full time for a few months, have good attendance, a good work ethic, and a good attitude…you didn’t even need a high school diploma. I think they actually preferred people without any really useful education as they didn’t want to waste time training someone who was obviously going to be moving on to another field of work at some point.

Obviously you wouldn’t get rich off that type of wage, but its decent. I completely understand some people are a victim of a bad economy or just bad luck, but here in America we also have quite a large population of lazy idiots who are over paid at minimum wage who have no desire or ambition to improve themselves. I know when I walk through my local walmart half the staff there is completely worthless…you ask for help with something and get a bad look from the store rep because they were busy playing with their phone, its ridiculous. Or sometimes you go to a local fast food burger joint and order a plain f~~~ing cheeseburger…just meat, bread, and cheese, and they manage to f~~~ it up, yet think they’re worth $15 an hour. If they stopped f~~~ing up and were a decent worker they’d be working their way up to management quickly…I knew a guy who was a high school drop out who became a McDondald’s manager before he was 20 who was making 60k a year 10 years ago…he’d probably be pulling in 75k a year if he was still doing it now. Of course…the guy was a good worker with a good attitude, and eventually got his diploma and moved on to other things.

I think it was Dick Masterson, from the men are better than women website, who long ago pointed out that most females who graduate with medical degrees soon quit their profession to stay at home taking care of the children. That means there is a HUGE shortage of doctors, because those medical spots could have been given to men, who would spend the next 30 – 40 years being a doctor. Dick suggested that women who do not use their medical degrees by practicing medicine should be forced by the state to give the money back for medical school.

So the next time you hear about rising medical costs, remember it’s not just Obama, Hillary, and illegals (although that’s a big part of it) – it’s the massive shortage of doctors because women have stolen medical places from men and then refuse to practice medicine.
