Racism has really become a joke over the last decade. We have our first black president, inter racial dating is at an all time high, multi-racial children are being born at a higher rate than ever, the % of whites in the country is declining to the point where we don’t even make up 50% of the country anymore, enrollment in white supremacist groups is at all time lows, affirmative action has for decades given minorities advantages in higher education and employment over whites, etc etc, yet some would have you believe its worse to be a non-white person today than it was in the 50s or 60s.

Sad thing is I know a lot of blacks who are hard working, successful, honest people who I have more respect for than a lot of white people I know, and these people look at chumps like Kaepernick and BLM and shake their heads in disgust just like the rest of us are doing. Hopefully some day people like that will rise up and tell some of their fellow blacks they aren’t losers because whitey is holding them back, they’re losers because of themselves. When white people turn out to be thug/druggy losers we just look at them and think man that person is an idiot…when a black person turns out that way guess what, I also look at them and think man that person is an idiot…isn’t that equality?

I agree man…I’ll respect my country, and I realize its still a hell of a lot better to be here than most places in the world, but the amount of pride I take in my country and my fellow countrymen has steadily been falling over the last decade. It just seems like since I’ve been old enough to really start to follow and understand politics the country has been moving steadily in the wrong direction, and what really scares me is how many seem to think moving further in the wrong direction will be better.

Definitely spot on here as well. It seems like every few months the media has to blow something stupid up into a giant race issue, and assholes like Obama and Sharpton love adding fuel to the fire. It is odd that we too have the exact same type of problem in our country; except its not skin color…its castes.

The government reserved opportunities in all education, employment and services for the scheduled castes/tribes of the country…..and not the pendulum has swung too much on the other side.

Now its a big curse to be in the unreserved category. I myself did not get into a low-cost government med school even though I was fully qualified the exams…but the ST/SCs (who scored lower than me) got them easily.

In every high-profile public sector, the SC/STs rule. People are going to the extent of obtaining fake caste certificates so that they can chime in one the perks. The ‘good people who want to improve the system’ are always banging the courtroom doors but to no avail, of course.

Its surprising; people tend to take unfair advantages of the privileges bestowed upon them because they were at a disadvantage to begin with. Be it women, be it people of color, be it people of scheduled castes/tribes.

Reservations are made to level the playing field, not to make one group superior to another. Why don’t people get that?

Oh yeah…reminds me of when I was trying to get a state job when I was younger. Part of the pre-job testing was to pass a physical exam where they had you do all kinds of exercises and you had to meet minimum standards. Part of it was a sprint…we had to do a lap around the track in less than a minute. I think it was like 1/5th of a mile…not incredibly hard to do. They’d send you around the track in groups of 4, and when you finished the guy would shout your time out…if you passed you went to the next station, if not they just told you to leave and you were no longer considered for the position.

While I was waiting my turn, the group ahead of me was 3 white guys and a black woman. The first white guy finished and he shouted out like 48 seconds or whatever, and the other two were both a second or two behind him. The black woman was like 2/3 of the way around. We all know there was no f~~~ing chance on the face of the planet she would make it in under a minute…it was literally like another 30 seconds before she finished and she was practically walking by the end. When she crossed the finish line the guy with the stop watch running that portion of the test said “59 seconds, good job!” and sent her along to the next station.

It was total bulls~~~, and we all knew it, but that department needed blacks and it needed women to meet its diversity requirements. Its pretty f~~~ed up but I can only imagine in the end she didn’t get the job and it was because of racism or because she was a woman, or if she did get the job she probably didn’t last long because she wasn’t cut out for it and got it for bulls~~~ reasons over much better candidates. Meanwhile there were hundreds of white guys there that day who met the standard no problem and didn’t get hired because they were white and not needed…then we get to go home and listen to blacks whine about racism lol. The worse part was it was a job as a corrections officer so the last thing you’d want in that position is for some of the people who are supposed to be backing you up to be out of shape and incompetent but handed the position because they were a certain demographic.

I even knew some people that worked in the department, and the advice I got from every single one of them was “Don’t check off you are white on your application, check off the box that says other or you won’t get hired.” Kinda funny when numb nuts like Kaepernick think the system is designed to hold minorities back when us middle class white guys have seen time and time again how women and minorities are legislated advantages in everything from college admissions to employment.

1 Its his right to sit down for the anthem because of the first amendment. In fact even if he decides to burn flags every sunday before the game its still is right to do it.

I don’t necessarily agree with what he’s doing or his opinion, but I don’t think anything should be done to him for doing it. He doesn’t stand up for the anthem. So what? There are rapists, murderers, thieves, drug dealers, dog fighters, etc in that league. This is where they’re going to draw the line on who can play or who can’t? It’s peaceful protest so I have no problem with it, even though I don’t agree with his views or actions.

Just a few months ago, a guy in my area put a pakistani flag on his bike and was subjected to public flogging. (There is an age-old feud between pakistan and India).

When I heard the news, I was like “What the f~~~? He just put a flag on his bike….he didn’t go around defaming our flag.. why beat him up? Maybe he’s a paki supporter…so let him be. Why make such a big deal out of it?”
