Hey guys,
New to MGTOW and was wondering if there’s any serious chess players/USCF members in here. Started playing about 9 years ago, thinking I could meet some smart Eastern European hottie that way. I was seeing all these articles on chess websites about some of these high-powered women players, most of whom are imported of course.
Joined a couple of local clubs and found mostly the exact opposite–nerdy men, some sorely lacking in the hygiene department. And LOTS of Asian and Jewish kids.
Now that I’m MGTOW, this is actually a blessing. Chess in my world is now a break from “everyday life”. There’s the occasional chess mom, but single moms don’t even budge my peter-meter. I’ve only run across a handful of “chess hotties”, but at this point I could care less. They seem pretty full of themselves anyway, and are typically in the expert/open sections so I don’t cross paths with them.
Going away to a tournament next weekend. Almost like a retreat for me, especially when I run into other players that I know. Anyways, let me know if you play and if you have an online account somewhere. I used to have a chess.com account but I got tired of paying when there’s a handful of good, free sites out there. Let me know if you want a game!

Chess hotties are probably much like Poker ones – they don’t particularly like men but know they can use their female attraction against an unwitting male oponent to their advantage.
Lifes a bitch, but you don't have to marry one!
Thanks for posting the link to the game , Tower.
Depending on how much mileage and visits the Chess game gets, we would like to be able to allow players to play against EACH OTHER and watch running games between members. This involves storing “moves” – and games – here so they are remembered by the site when you return. You can imagine the added complexity of this.
You would get an email saying “tower just moved his rook to ________. Your move.”
That would be so cool. Perhaps eventually.
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.I was a badass chess player back in the day. I played and beat everyone until no one would play me, and then played online. I did find that it wasn’t as fun on the internet, and I also got bored after a while because winning just became a matter of memorizing a long series of moves.
I still play chess occasionally, but not online. Have you every played Shogi? Shogi is a variant of chess from feudal Japan. It’s far more complex, which means there’s a lot more strategy than simply memorizing the optimal position to move your piece in any given scenario. Shogi pieces have much more limited movement (only a handful can move backwards at all), and when you capture an opponent’s piece, you can place it back on the board as your own. I recommend checking out some Shogi games on Youtube if you’re interested. Shogi is so advanced that when good Shogi players learn chess, they start off at the master level.
Women are better at multitasking? Fucking up several things at once is not multitasking.
Have you seen you tube channel “hutch” with GM Tal Baron?
Tal instructs hutch but doesn’t tell him the move. It is some of the best stuff. Especially, when hutch screws the pooch etc.
It brings excitement to it. Wondered what if they did a tournament of over 2500 paired with 1500 random. The 2500 could explain strategy but not a specific move to the 1500. The 1500 would be at board playing and the 2500’s in a room. As participant you could listen in and watch the action.
Ahh, what if.
Peace brothers
I used to have fond memories of playing chess with my dad in my teen years. He had a set made of marble stone. I was never that good at it. I haven’t played in many years. I think the last time I played chess was on one of the Mortal Kombat games.

I have now. Watched a couple of them last night. They’re pretty good! Thanks for the tip.
There’s a couple of other guys on YouTube I highly recommend:
IM Danny Rensch – One of the principals of chess.com. Think he’s ex-mil, the way he carries himself. Sharp, sharp guy and funny as hell. Likes to do impressions and foreign accents a lot.
GM Simon Williams (aka “Ginger GM”) – Red-headed Brit who has a ponytail and vapes while commenting on the video. Wild, b~~~~-to-the-wall attacking player. He plays Danny Rensch a lot and both video their games with each other. It’s pretty cool to see both their perspectives on the same games.
GM Roman Dzindzichashvili (say that 10x fast!) – Former US champion from Soviet Georgia. I’ve met him in person. Funny, funny guy. Says s~~~ like “this is the move from the hell” or “this guy should play checkers instead” in a thick, Slavic accent. Does mostly instructional videos on openings and tactics.

Hi CST,
Yes, I’ve heard of Shogi (and it’s Chinese cousin Xiangqi). It looks intimidating as I remember the pieces are actually disks with kanji characters on them. I’m pretty sure it’s just a matter of memorizing them, but I can easily see myself getting screwed up trying to remember “is THIS one the king?”
Someone once tried to teach me Go as well, and did a crappy job of explaining it. I’m sure there are tutorials on YouTube or some Go sites on the web. But I’ll have to check it out.
I heard a story about former world chess champ Garry Kasparov playing in a Shogi tournament in Japan. I think they started him out as a 4th Dan, which I hear is pretty good.
Will have to try it out sometime.
