I think the only one of those categories I’d acknowledge is country. I fully recognize how lucky I am to have been born in a first world country vs some s~~~ hole in Africa where you are lucky to even have a reliable source of clean water. Exactly man…I’m in a nice job now and am in good shape financially, but to get here I had many days where I’d punch in at work at 4am and not get home from my night class until 11pm that night, just to have to be at work for 4am the next day. For someone to tell me I only got to where I am because I’m white straight male is a f~~~ing joke.

This is the truth right here. I had the privilege of working with a Haitian guy for a couple years at my last job. His whole family moved up here with just the clothes on their backs after the earthquake and all seemed to find employment and manage to get by without any government handouts rather quickly.

The guy showed up to work every day, was a good worker, a respectable person, and is currently a semester away from a nursing degree. He literally did the same thing I did in life…work a s~~~ty job and pay your way through college for the opportunity to move into a better job, which hopefully he will pull off this year.

His family never whined about white privilege…they were smart enough to understand just being here in the states was 100x better than being back in Haiti. They were all hard working, law abiding people who pulled their weight in society, and the guy I worked with was the first one in his family to ever attend college. Why is it a first generation black immigrant family can not only pull their weight in society, but actually climb up the social ladder quite a ways going from the grandparents/parents being uneducated workers working low wage service jobs to a son who will be an RN, yet we have blacks who have been here for generations, who have made a family tradition out of collecting welfare moneys, who can’t pull their heads out of their asses and blame their lot in life on white privilege holding them back? From what I see hard work and good choices gets you ahead in life these days regardless of your skin color, while being a thuggy druggy is a great way to make sure you are on the bottom tier of society for life, again regardless of your skin color.

34k USD per year makes you top 1% on a global scale. Sure its more expensive to live here…but then again there are still countries where the bulk of their population live in the same style huts they have lived in for thousands of years, have no electricity, and just having a reliable water supply is a blessing. Even the poor in America are pretty f~~~ing well off compared to how many people are living across the globe.
