I think I can predict that he too shall be bankrupt, and owing millions in back taxes.

It’s NOT a matter of “if” just a matter of “when”.

How many times do we have to see this movie played out ????

You would think that MORE Athletes would have LEARNED from all the ones that have fallen before them, but somehow VERY FEW do, and Most just keep going down the same path.

When you don’t have a good head above your shoulders and started life having very little is how you get to see these weaklings flexing their stacks, my father was the same way when he was a millionaire, then he went broke, hes children stopped looking for him, the women stopped searching for him because he was now broke, downward spiral that usually gets you to disappear into as everyone ignores that you exist or you end up offing yourself.

In a related matter, Johnny Depp, whom at one point had over $600 million, is almost broke.

Even with the bad press, I predict Disney will hire Mr. Depp for another Pirates of the Caribbean movie. While PotC movie five did not do well at the box office, both Mr. Depp and Disney need the money. Disney needs the money for their bidding war with Comcast over the purchase of 21st Century Fox bidding war.

Even if PotC movie six is only a moderate success, Disney could use the movie to prove they have another viable franchise, which would increase their company value to borrow money against for purchasing 21st Century Fox.

Plus, given Mr. Depp money problem, he will take the salary at a far lower cost, lowering the overhead for the production cost for PotC movie six.

Though, if another PotC movie is made, I how Geoffrey Rush returns as his role as Barbossa. Mr. Rush and Mr. Depp play off well against each other. And Barbossa has already been brought back from the dead before, so that is possible.

Mayweather is an arrogant ass…but I think he’s a lot more financially savvy than most would assume because he’s always showing off his money. The thing is though he’s got hundreds of millions with a lot of various investments pulling in passive income for him…he’s not your typical rags to riches athlete showing off a few million when that few million is all he has.

Whether or not he can afford the watch, having seen its picture, I would suggest he can’t buy taste.

You would need to pay me to wear that. It looks like a drag queen’s watch or at best a pimp’s. Where is the clean masculinity that a man want’s in anything he wears? In all fairness he’s a tough guy and not too many people are going to tell him that to his face but still why have them think it?

In this case I think the need to be seen spending is all this watch achieves.

The whole point of making it big is being able to p~~~ it away however you want. Good for him.

Yep, it’s an ugly watch. Diamonds may be forever and the hardest matter on Earth, but they are not rare and shouldn’t be that big of a deal. IMO, Diamonds are only good for cutting concrete or other, better stones.

Have you seen some of Mr. Mayweather’s views on money and society? He might not be able to read, but when it comes to money, he’s not as dumb as people would make out. It’s all about percentages.

Let’s say you 1.5 Million to your name. You buy a Rolex for 15K. That’s only 1% of your networth.

Let’s say Mayweather is worth 1.5B and he has bought this watch. He has spent 1.2% of his wealth. Let us not bash the man for enjoying what he has earned.

Yup. If he’s enjoying his money in a manner that isn’t going to land him in jail 10 years from now because he’s in massive debt and delinquent on taxes…good for him.

Whether or not he can afford the watch, having seen its picture, I would suggest he can’t buy taste.

I don’t think he cares what it looks like as long as its stupid expensive lol. Its Floyd “Money” Mayweather…showing off money is what he does. He could have bought a nicer looking Rolex for a fraction of the cost, but then he wouldn’t be able to show off his 18 million dollar watch.

Not too Many of them are singing that song after their Cash/Investments all VANISH along with their careers. Ask Iron Mike, and MANY, MANY, MANY other ex-athletes.

Many washed-up broke ex-athletes will have Made and Spent More in a year then Most people will make in their Lifetime. If they can’t hold onto it, and so easily WASTE 18 million for something as stupid a watch that they’ll be lucky to get a million for to pay the tax man when they’re all washed up. Then they truly do deserve to be BROKE.

I mean Floyd mayweather is a billionaire. So 18 million is not much to him, plus, he is very savvy. The “Money Mayweather” persona is an act. He’ll be fine.

As others have mentioned, his residual income, and well as the interest from his money, well damn.

Mayweather competed professionally from 1996-2015, and ended his career as a fighter with almost fifty wins and zero defeats. Floyd Mayweather’s net worth as of 2018 is an estimated $340 million, making him the richest boxer in the world.

Mike Tyson is a former world heavyweight champion, considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. At one point in his career, he was worth $300 million. But lavish spending and some bad financial decisions have caused him to lose it.
