Usually most reverse phone lookups will tell you in their free info whether its a land line or mobile number.

I tried that reverse phone look-up. most revealed nothing. One reverse look-up wanted $29/mo.

Well the services I purchased were about as useful as dogs~~~. You really want to find out their employers, and most services do not give out that information.

Even Intellus data is sort of lacking.

Ask the dude on here that is a P.I. He will point you in the right direction. And$29 bucks, does not sound bad. But here is the thing. They don’t leave a message, I don’t answer. Or return the call. That way, I can’t get in trouble for “Contacting” anyone.

Much cheaper options. Just put the number in Google and you’ll be on your way. I’ve seen a few sites charge 4 bucks for the info. If you want it to be private and not traced back to you, make sure you use a VPN and a pre-paid Visa card you paid with cash.

Send the number a text message. It will bounce back and tell you It’s a landline. Then again you will be exposing your number.

    Peace is > piece.

As has been mentioned, most of the “free” lookups should tell you if the number you enter is mobile or land. You won’t get much more info without paying, but at the very least you’ll know if it’s tethered to the ground.

Who even uses landlines anymore except for businesses? If it’s a personal number, statistically it’s a mobile.

Ah Ha. I sent a text message. It did not bounce back. My cell phone said “message sent”. So, I guess that the number in question is a cell phone.

I don’t know the system at your country, but here, it is possibe to differentiate landline from cell phone just by looking at the phone number. The beginning of the phone number is different.

HA, I may be the only one left who has a landline. The first reason is, my cable TV goes through it and I had to have it if I wanted cable where I live. The other reason is that I live in no man’s land and on the rare occasion I was able to get a cell signal, I would soon lose it and drop the call.

So, one less thing I need to put in my pocket when I leave the house and I’m saving money by not having a cell phone. Most of the time, I’m either at work or at home and there are phones at both of these places and it’s only a 20 minute drive between the two so there’s no reason for me to have a mobile phone. If I’m not at home or at work, then I damn sure don’t want to be anywhere near a phone because I’m probably shooting, or fishing, or doing something where I don’t want to be bothered by a phone call. It was a very freeing experience for me when I was able to cancel my mobile subscription.
