Spain has given us no choice but to declare independence

But … of the populace, only 43% bothered to vote. That works out as a ‘Yes’ vote of only 40%. That’s how ‘popular’ it is. There is no ‘democratic mandate’.

In reality, it’s a bunch of corrupt local politicians thinking that they can grab some real estate and power for themselves.

Look I think the vote was ill advised. If you are in favor, go about it in some organized fashion. But it difficult to criticize the voter participation rate (43 percent) when the Federal leaders were telling folks it illegal to go vote, used federal police to block polling stations, and in some cases smacking folks around that wished to vote. Aggressive police at polling stations tends to turn down the voting participation rates.

How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being.

I had forgotten about the ballot confiscation in addition to roughing up voters or potential voters. Good point Freeman__K!

If a cop beat the s~~~ out of me for BS like that, my response would be to
A) Find out where the cop and his family lives
B) Cripple the cop by rendering him into a quadriplegic
C) Kill the cop’s family in front of him, and make him beg for the life of each individual family member before execution (executions by power drill, belt sander and dremel)
D) Gouge his eyes out so that his family being slaughtered is the last thing he sees
E) Carve a swastica and the words “FASCIST PIG” into his forehead with a knife
F) Dress him in his police uniform and dump him, crippled, blind and scarred in front of the police station with a video of what transpired to send a message to the other cops

Ahh the good ol’ Spanish police.

I remember their Francoist methodology back in the 90s, when a friend of mine went on holiday and one night bumped into a group of them and drunkenly asked them for directions. After being “escorted” to some nearby waste ground, spat at and then humiliated, he and another chap he was with were beaten to within an inch of their lives and left for dead. Spent the rest of their holiday in hospital before holiday company got them back to the UK as part of a “goodwill” gesture.

Glad to see the new EU/ fourth Reich Spanish police are carrying on with tradition!

I don’t think they will achieve an independent country without going to war for it, especially while the EU is very much against them becoming their own country.

If Spain gives up, then it will not only loose 25 percent of its economy but also the basque will rise up again, years after ETA gave up its arms, that’s also the reason why France will not support a free Catalan state, as they also may be worried about possible uprising in the basque regions.
So anyway, Spain will go for war if needed, so none of the sides will be able to handle this mess peacefully
