Catalonia’s secessionist parties won enough votes Thursday to regain a slim majority in the regional parliament and give new momentum to their political struggle for independence from Spain.
The deposed Catalan president, Carles Puigdemont, on Friday offered to meet the Spanish prime minister anywhere but in Spain, the day after pro-independence parties held onto their majority in snap regional elections.
——-this has to be the poorest planned and executed independence movement ever.

They are economically prosperous on their own. It sounds like most of the smarter people live there. They don’t need Spain or the EU any more than Britain does, but they’ll fail just like Britain did because NO GUNS.

I have to wonder how independent really would be if they joined the EU?

Altogether, 19 of the elected candidates are either in prison, on bail or in exile, and face charges that carry up to 30 years in prison. Now the supreme court judge Pablo Llarena plans to issue writs against a further 11 people linked with the deposed Catalan government for their part in organising October’s referendum and fomenting secessionism.
