Around in BC, I seen sears and a couple of walmarts closing down shops in Calgary and in Vancouver, and that got me thinking. Are these stores closing down because the retail markets are getting ready for a economic crash since the Canadian dollar still continues to go down in value here in Canada?

Or is there more to how women have a huge influence on their spending since they are the likely the majority that spends more then men.

List of Retailers Who Have Closed Locations in Canada

Yeah it was really strange a Target opened in the city and a few months later they had a liquidation sale and closed. They didn’t even have any good deals.

The local Staples also closed a couple of years ago.

Sears is still hanging on – just barely. I don’t think it will be around much longer though.

Both Future Shops in the vicinity are also gone. Although it was basically Best Buy 1.0. The Best Buy across the road is still there.

There was a Grand and Toy in a major mall, of a neighboring city – now gone too.

Wonder how long the Yorkdale Indigo bookstore will survive?

I don’t think the Bay (HBC) is doing too well either. The stores look like they haven’t been updated in about 20 years.

Supposedly the dollar is forecast to get even worse, perhaps 0.50 to the US Dollar.

This is going on everywhere and it’s not women-specific. We all need to purchase certain things in life but I’ve personally grown very tired of brick & mortar stores, and actually with participating in an economy that craps on my values and on me (as a man and as a person).

Brick & Mortars are full of human dregs and filth and annoying people. Braindead mouthbreathing s~~~s who obliviously wander with their faces buried in their iDevices, and at the same time prices keep rising while the people hired to provide service are worse than the stereotype of a soviet bureaucrat. Add to that the stores cater primarily to chicks and carry not much of interest or need to men.

Add to that everywhere I look in society people who want independence, self-reliance, and human decency are shat upon and ridiculed. Fine, do so, but I and many others respond by pulling back to any extent possible from an economy and society that s~~~s on us. I’ll take my money out of country if I wish to spend it, and if stores close, oh well.

One other reason I’ll rarely hit a brick & mortar anymore – a while ago I’m buying some crap for my mom at a Wally World and go by some random land-whale waddling thru and blocking an aisle. I was moving fast, she waddled left and so I went right where there was room. Her body mass starts swaying right as she aimlessly waddles but there was room and I was in the middle of my pass and continued, to her surprise. She yelled something and I ignored it and kept going. 10 minutes later at the checkout, the manager and a security guard show up and start lecturing me about being polite to fat women blocking aisles. I ask what they are talking about, and they point to fatass off to the side staring. I told them to look at their video cameras before they make false accusations, grabbed my s~~~ and walked straight between them and out the door.

Now, why would I want to shop anywhere that treats me like that? I am very certain others catch the same BS, and then these places are surprised that no one wants to got there.

I was at Dollarama one night in an aisle and I stepped back and an employee came flying around the corner to where I was and stopped for a second, then left. Almost like they decided I was a potential shoplifter…

Meanwhile I know people who worked in other Dollarama’s and who were stealing stuff on the job, the justification being “because it was only a dollar”.

Dear lord that is so true, It’s not even funny.

I had the similar thing happen to me at Walmart. Some land whale or whatever the hell she is was starting to go apes~~~ over a sale or something because her discount card wouldn’t work or something. I ended up muttering to myself with the phrase, Somebody get this f~~~ing whale their prozac or something. A SJW tapped my shoulder and told me that was offensive.

I responded with, “well I didn’t come here to listen to a fat f~~~ going on about some card when that person can just pay in cash or on a debit card or something. Who gives a s~~~, If you won’t save 10 or 20 bucks on a sale or something.”

Before he said anything, I just ditch the line and waited about 20 minutes or so until the human waste is gone so that I can go home.

When it comes to big ticket items. Online really does take away the nonsense I have to listen to.

Oh and the couples. Holy hell, the guys look like dogs on a leash thanks to their “girlfriends”.

I never seen so many men with their b~~~~ taken away in a large number like that. I guess being a shut in who only comes out to shop for food or treats at night doesn’t seem all that bad now aside from work.

Shopping in stores has become such a pain in the ass! The workers are BEYOND stupid. They can barely scan an item, let alone help with any sort of real problem you have. What should be a 5 minute grab and dash turns into a 2 hour ordeal of dodging land whales, dealing with stupid people, waiting in endless lines, and then leaving with only 1/2 of what you came in there to get because it was “out of stock.” Then you have to go home and order the other 1/2 of what you needed online anyway!

I work from home and nowadays I leave the house maybe twice a month. The world is an absolute s~~~ hole and going out in it is a stressful and horrible experience.

It wasn’t like this 10 years ago, but it’s really gotten bad! It’s to the point where I’m thinking of getting my groceries delivered and never leaving the house again!

Damn. I didn’t know it was like that up in Canada. I hope it will get better soon, or that you and the other MGTOWs get out before the boat sinks.

This sounds like me pretty much. I go out only to help my friends for the most part. Other than that, my outings into the so-called “Real World” Are usually satisfied by the occasional breath of fresh air and taking out the trash can. Online stores>>>Brick and mortar all day.

I am staying. This country is where my family lives and has for atleast 3 or 4 generations back.

I hope that when things do get bad, all those who created the mess and believe they are entitled to a good life, decide to leave and ply their craft somewhere else. Preferably outside of North America.

Then maybe we can start cleaning up the mess they caused.

It maybe due to online sales. A lot of people buy online. Staples are closing quite a few stores in Canada.
Ontario is in big trouble. Cut backs in hospitals, doctor’s wages, schools, etc and on top of that there will be carbon tax and higher CPP. Ontario is pretty f~~~ed up now I am hoping I never have to go to the hospital.

Dairy products – one container in the cart per visit.
The BS starts, immediately quietly “walk”
leaving the cart right there….merchandise spoils.

Saw a WalMart have both entrances refurbished. The quantity of rebar in the walkway was beyond any I’d ever witnessed. Why make it unbelievably strong for foot traffic? It now could easily hold a heavy vehicle or tank repetitively with no problem whatsoever. Almost as much rebar as concrete.

    Just added this:

Simple we live in a new age where shopping is being done online. Since woman are scared of the actual real world, shopping online saves them from real life interactions, and no one wears their clothing except them.

I work in a clothing store in Canada and every other store has been having an up 50-60% sale for 2-6 months solid. All there stores are dead even with the sales going on.

People are just genuinely shopping less. The economy has been rocky since the 08 crash and never fully recovered. The Canadian dollar got knocked down hard and we’re not recovering, we’re just letting other countries with stronger currencies prey off us.
