In 2002 Canadian born Omar Khadr was 15 years old when he was shot and detained by U.S. Special Forces following a firefight in Afghanistan. The Pentagon charged Khadr with “murder in violation of the laws of war,” for the death of Delta Force soldier Sgt. Christopher Speer, who was fatally wounded in the firefight due to a grenade khadr threw.

There are many web pages that go into the details of what happened but basically he was held in detention for 10 years but because he was a minor Canada’s government decreed he is not responsible for his actions and he is deep down probably an OK guy who will very likely not kill too many more infidels. To make up for the injustice Canada is giving him a sincere apology (of course, how Canadian) and $10 million.

Hmmm… I don’t think this guy should have gotten a cent. More likely a bullet in combat. But you can’t invade a country, shoot people then charge the people who fight back with murder, that’s ridiculous.

I was quite in favour of invading Afghanistan and getting rid of the Taliban and Al Quaeda, but it stands to reason they were going to shoot back. He should have been treated as a POW, or dealt with under the rules of war – Rule 303 in this case.

The guy was actually Canadian born but he engaged in combat “in violation of the laws of war”. All soldiers are expected to follow the rules. Failure to do so makes you liable for prosecution.

In any case Turdeau is currently not commenting on the case. Has Trump had anything to say???

Man…you know what? I came to this country (formerly known as Canada), with my parents, and we worked our asses of just to be able to survive.
