I thought your statements made it pretty clear that you were looking at things from a rational standpoint, and that you were even open to the thought that your view on the subject may not be correct. It seemed like a rather mature viewpoint. I can’t see how you were showing disrespect to the boy or the two girls.

His response was pretty close minded, and didn’t really leave any room for discussion. I get that the boy made a heroic, selfless choice, but that doesn’t mean that it was the right choice by default. It’s fair to question it in a respectful way, and he basically said that it was unquestionable. Using his wife as a way to say that all women were princesses meant that in order to question the premise, you had to make it personal and practically insult his wife. Not worth the effort.

The value of human life is a very touchy subject. It’s fair to say all life is priceless, or that some life is more valuable then other based on their value to mankind. We are also ok with acceptable loss of line for what’s perceived as the advancement of mankind, or just better living conditions for a certain few. If you’re going to discuss it, don’t come with a thin skin.

    Ok. Then do it.

If you listen to the things manginas say,it is exactly the same things females say. They have adoptaded female thinking.Pretty unmanly. Especially coming from a combat veteran. HEY…MY LIFE HAS F~~~ING VALUE! Women have no more value than me. They are not f~~~ing princesses. That is childesh fantasy. Everything ive acompleshed in life has been INSPITE of women. Not because of them. F~~~ that moron.

Evolutionary psychology explains it all. We were hunter-gatherers for a long damn time. Simple math reveals that one surviving man with 10 surviving women means 10 babies in a year, whereas one surviving woman with 10 surviving men means 1 or 2 babies in a year. From a keep-the-tribe-alive perspective, women were simply more valuable than men.

Of course, women were treated like property because of this. Traded for pigs and fish-nets. It’s why they are such emotional manipulators; that was pretty much all they had to further their lot in an environment where the tribe couldn’t afford to grant women the luxury of saying “no.”

So, a little red-pill for male behavior: we are instinctually driven to protect women and children because we evolved in an environment where they were more important than we were. This kid was just following his instincts.

The values in our society are mainly just a reflection of those instincts, so most of us will cheer this kind of behavior on, not realizing that in the modern world those instincts no longer meet our needs.

It is wise to fear dangerous commitments.

Maybe Freedom. I just do not estimate the survival odds of the group of 1 man with 10 women and 10 babies a year to be very high. I see a lack of food gathering ability to sustain that. But in a way, it does reflect how things may end up when the 9 unmentioned providers simply went somewhere else.

Strange times are these in which we live when old and young are taught falsehoods in school. And the person that dares to tell the truth is called at once a lunatic and a fool. -Plato
