Can past posts be deleted on this forum if the author requests it? Or, is there a delete button to do so?

Sure! (apolz for being so late getting back to you)

Send us a request anytime – with a link to your post you want deleted. No problem. Will be happy to. You have 30 minutes (I think) to edit your post. If you wish to withdraw your post you can just edit it in that time and change it to “—-please delete or ignore — ” or something like that within that time frame.

If it’s AFTER the 30 minutes, just send us a note. We’ll be happy to remove it.

The reason there is a limit is because others may have replied already based on what you posted. This represents invested time and interest on their part – to read and respond. To permit users to delete their own posts after the fact removes all subsequent posts as relevant and the entire thread can become incoherent. It also would permit a belligerent asshole to post…. get replies…… and then pull the rug out (or change it entirely ) after the fact. That would be a bad idea.

So be conscious and proud of what you post and you can’r go wrong.
We’re happy to help any time.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
