A vegan cafe called Handsome Her in Brunswick, Australia, charges its male customers an 18 percent surcharge to represent the gender pay gap.

In addition, women also get priority seating at Handsome Her. If 10 men and 10 women arrive at the same time, the women are seated first.

The cafe attempts to avoid legal hassles by making the surcharge voluntary. If a man doesn’t want to pay the tax, the tax is removed from the bill.

Sounds to me like more feminist drama. It seems like women don’t like peace and quiet. They have to have drama.

First off, it sounds illegal. You can’t make up your own sales tax; the state decides that. Second, even if you can make up your own tax, you can’t charge a guy more money for the same product than a women, because that’s gender discrimination! So it sounds like at least 2 laws are broken with this “man tax.”
