Just had to vent gents. Hope you don’t mind. This old hag who sits in the next cubical- must be 50 or older but thinks she’s “young”
runs her mouth so loud I can hear it across the floor.
She cackles on the phone about nothing for nearly an hour today. Even with white noise and headphones her shrill voice still permeates. Finally asked her “politely” if she could please take lengthy personal calls away from her desk and in a break room. Looked at me like I was a skunk at a picnic.
    I work with 6’5″
men who don’t generate as much volume from their mouths as this crocodile!

So MANY of them are just so dam loud !! And the other problem, like you mentioned, is that they carry on with their loud crap forever and just won’t stop!! I wish some MAN could invent something to shut them the hell up !!

I live with a couple cackling Hyenas now, and I can’t wait til I’m gone !! At least you can leave yours behind at work, imagine living with that daily annoyance.

This rude shrill old bag is still yammering away on the phone about nothing now going on two hours. I not only pity my colleagues – but s~~~ – her husband has to deal with that s~~~ 7 days a week. Hopefully he wears a hearing aid that he can turn off. Why the f~~~ would any man put up with a crackling wench like that?

Isn’t there a supervisor you can talk to about the fact that she’s at work doing personal s~~~ and disrupting everyone else’s work space? Or, is she a hag, too?

We talked about the loudness of women in a thread the other day, but it’s a phenomenon that’s so pervasive that I can’t get over the change. I’m old enough that I remember when most women were no obese, and I also remember when women were not so loud. This is a socialized condition, methinks.

Any of you guys that are 50 years-old or older remember when women were quieter, and actually pleasant to listen to, or am I remembering wrong?

Yes I do. And I remember hearing what they would talk about when they didn’t know I could hear. All those warnings growing up and I still walked right into the trap when I was 20. Live and learn.

This is why Paul the Apostle commanded a woman to learn in silence and for a woman to not have authority over a man in church. Many used to think he was nuts for this and that the Bible was just plain wrong; turns out that he was exactly right!

    your memory is fine…
women were soft spoken and feminine.
    most were trim and slender..
    subtle curves..
not the loud obese cows mooing today.
    .
and they were treated with the respect they were due.
    now…what is there to respect?
brash loud and angry does NOT get them a man.

Ive met a few of these types over the years. They all have the same qualities. Middle aged, loud, opinionated, dresses for attention and entitled. One particular woman I had to work with was the same way. She was obnoxious. Voice volume always had to be loud, lots of cackling or what seemed like forced laughter and walks very fast for some reason.

My personal advice is to tell your supervisor alone about her loud telephone conversations and how distracting it is. Whether is it a female or male, if the supervisor cares about productivity and quality, it will be addressed.
