Your title is really misleading OldAtHeart, she was dumped and she decided to trash the dress, not the other way around. It may sound childish, but it’s probably an act of defiance, ie: I will get over this. I personally would have tried to sell it and bought myself holidays with the cash but as most wedding dresses are custom fitted, it might have been an issue.

That is exactly what would happen. We would be told he just missed out on the best thing of his life, he isn’t respecting her choice, she is better off without him. I find the comments below the article pretty depressing. It’s all ‘you go girl’ and ‘this guy lost a strong, confident woman’. Someone even writes ‘those who fall out of love were never in love to begin with. True love lasts forever’.

I’d have more respect for the woman if she just quietly donated the dress to a charity shop and got on with her life. I know she’s trying to make a statement about what a proud confident woman she is, but really, this just comes across as childish.

LOLZ! Thanks for posting that – you also enabled me to also trash 2 moronitudes I hate hearing that she said at the article’s end:

Well, what if I don’t like lemonade?? Besides, life sometimes simply doles out a lousy dish of sh1t and you should just deal with it, not come up with some stupid corny (or lemony) moronitude.

The utter inanity of that moronitude, and believe you me I have personally heard a lot of women say that, is astounding. The implication is always because something has happened that there must be a silver lining or a purpose in it, usually due to ‘fate’ or for religious reasons. Uh, no, you dimwit, ask the tens of millions who were slaughtered in the 20th century under communist dictatorships if they agree with your moronitude, the children who are killed in tragic car accidents, the loved one who dies from a disease far too young, etc. ‘Reason’ does not mean the same thing as ‘intent’. People who spout this garbage are usually looking to avoid having to deal with emotional pain often caused by their own actions, including this female. Or they cannot face the inherent evil or unfairness of a situation and use this as a cop-out rather than deal with the brutal reality of it.

Life is chock full of tragedies that occur for no reason at all, and in this female’s case I bet the ‘reason’ her suitor had bolted was that he had taken a really loooonnnnggggg look at her mother (as if SHE wasn’t bad enough!) and realized that he was about to be hitched to a soon-to-be 250 pound giant lemon.
