Nigel Farage suggests UK may need second Brexit referendum to settle question of EU membership ‘for a generation’

Nigel Farage has said the UK may need to hold a second Brexit referendum.

The former Ukip leader said a second vote would see people back Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union in “very much bigger” numbers and that would settle the issue “for a generation”.

Mr Farage said a re-run of June 23, 2016 may be the only way to stop Remainers “whinging and whining” about the result which Leave won by 52 per cent to 48 per cent.

He wants a referendum now because he’s worried that if we have a referendum on the leaving terms the people will change their minds.

Well he is probably right but it doesn’t mean the government will act on it.

Which is why May and co are deliberately being crap at the negotiation because they want a bad deal for that very reason.

Because May and her minions will make sure to ask the right question for Europe:
Leave on the terms of the EU deal (which will be punitive) or remain in the EU (forever)

Rather than the correct question for the UK:
Accept the terms of the EU deal (which will be punitive) or reject them and leave to trade under WTO rules. (the last thing Europe wants)

WTO rules won’t be that bad for us. We have a huge trade defecit with the EU area anyway.

What we should have done is walked away immediately f~~~ article 50 crap and gone straight to WTO.

German industry not least car manufacturers would have put pressure on Merkel …

Alternatively, they’re both just inept at negotiation.

One form of tyranny is to hold a vote over and over again until those in charge have the results they desire.

The concept of “double jeopardy” was created specifically so this type of abuse cannot be used in a criminal court of law, where a person cannot be tried for the same crime twice after a verdict has been given on said crime.

    No.

    The vote was taken.

Change the rules on how much of a gap exists to contest or recount. You can’t just throw out an election/referendum you dont like the results to.

If it was reversed he would not allow another election/referendum, he would say the majority spoke.

History repeating itself, just like the Lisbon Treaty.

Brown envelope for Mr Farage. Second referendum. Brexit averted. EU win.

    Job done!
