Perhaps it’s time to re-arm Japan, or let them re-arm themselves. Let Japan use their own industry to produce a navy, Air Force and army. Then, if that fat little f~~~ in NK wants to mix it up, we could stand off and watch the 1930s replay itself…
If the US hadn’t prohibited them from doing so, the Japanese would have already armed themselves and taken care of this little pigmy.
Look, it's not my fault that tornado dropped a house on your sister. Now get back on your broom and get your ass out of here... and take your monkeys with you
Japan rearmed in the mid-50s under considerable pressure from the US and more with a fear of Korean War II instead of the return of Godzilla. Their armed forces are wholly unitary and number around 300K with half again that in reserves and veterans liable for recall. Going by the personnel I’ve met, training levels are very high.
Their kit and equipment is very modern and is a mixture of “home grown” designs, license builds, and foreign purchases. For example, the ground branch has entirely domestic MBT and AFV designs, the air branch flies a license built F-15 and has bought the F-35, and the maritime branch uses domestically built ships which predominately use US weapons and sensors. The maritime branch also operates two classes of so-called “helicopter destroyers” which have thru-flight decks and are as large as WW2 carriers.
Japan also has much of the same ABM systems and capabilities as the US with the US “sharing” the rest of the stuff Japan doesn’t has.

Someone has to man that technology. After s~~~ting on their men for the past several decades, and sinking all their resources into advancing women unjustly, how are they going to find qualified personnel who have the ability and even want to do any of it now?
If I was a Japanese man, I would sooner turn my guns against my government than anyone else.

I’m telling you that they have the tech and the men.
People have been fooled by the shell game Japan has played with labels since the mid-50s. Because Japan doesn’t have something labeled an “army”, “navy”, or “air force”, people actually believe that Japan doesn’t have an army, navy, or air force.
According to the CIA’s world book, Japan has an active duty military per capita rating of roughly 2.15. While that number is about half the US’ per capita rating, it is about the same as Canada and you better believe Japan’s forces are far better equipped and capable than anything from the Great White North.
Japan has constitutional provision (written by Douglas MacArthur) renouncing “… war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes.” That, plus Japan’s very poor reputation in Asia kept the JSDF at home for decades. Even invitations to join UN “peacekeeping” missions were turned down until fairly recently.
Believe me, Japan is armed and armed very well.
