Just been signed off on the a350 xwb … for ferry and delivery work.

Thank fk that’s over. Should see me to retirement with luck.

Through my career I’ve been used to changing/training from one ship to another … but this time it was a real hard slog.

I don’t think I could do another.

The simulation and emergency procedures were ok but it’s the tech manuals, airframe, engines, fuel, systems … all swirling around in my nightmares.

As you age you come across points of no return. You can’t lift as much. Can’t stay awake as long. Can’t hold a p~~~ in hahaha

Last month was the point I couldn’t easily push more new tech stuff in my head. Well .. not big stuff anyway.

In a way I’m relieved as it’s nature’s way of saying stop now and enjoy just being.

I think the trick is to accept with good grace and just relax and let go of the fight.

So now ILA is in cruze mode and will just chill for the next 5 years …. and plan.

Getting old has it’s up and down …. but the in and out stops first ?

A high school friend of mine is a no s~~~, NASA rocket scientist. When we met for a few days of catching up, he admitted thinking through complex tasks was just getting harder and harder, and that was when he was in his early 40s.

I’ve never been rocket scientist material, more like lawnmower repair material, so imagine just how hard complex tasks are getting for me!

Haha, I’m definitely with you on that. I don’t even know how there’s a catergory on porn sites labeled “granny.” I looked in that section quite a few times when I first started watching porn, and I wanted to barf every single time.

You are obviously a very bright, accomplished guy.
Don’t sweat the tech manuals. What you do have is a ton of experience and wisdom.

The world can be a crazy place. When work becomes demanding, I compensate by spending a few minutes looking for a beach condo in Clearwater, Florida where I can become a bum (at least for a few weeks at a time)
