Know your Bike, the rules, your gear, and your limits. Enjoy the ride but be wary. There are tonnes of morons who just managed to pass a road test, or paid well for the privilege to ride or drive.

There was a time in my life when I gave a fuck. Now you have to pay ME for it

if you ever get that rare choice between going high or going low, go low.

Absolutely go low, unless going high means clearing a guardrail with WATER on the other side! Other than that, go low and slide with your legs and torso aimed in the direction of the slide, a violent roll could develop otherwise, whacking and smacking your bones against the pavement, a head first slide is also no good for obvious reasons….

@sidecar, I’ve been mostly obeying the rules of the road since the early 90’s  (off road is MINE!) I gave up riding on road in the 90’s, it’s to congested with moron drivers around here, I approach blind intersections expecting some asshole to be blowing a red light, I’ve avoided a few accidents with this mentality. I never hit anything, I’m always alert and scanning for bad situations….. It’s a healthy situational awareness that will keep you safe. If you like to daydream, drive a tank, at least their slow enough for riders to avoid…..

mrpropmech  I am your age inverted 52 and shopping for a motorcycle again.  Be careful for sure. I am looking at something smaller now for work commute. Something with displacement like yours 200 to 500 cc’s… I also want to motorize some bicycles. This was me on mine at your age 25. So it was not only before mgtow, but before I got married. Suzuki gsl750 inline four cylinder. it was fun and scary fast. I stood on the passenger pegs and pulled the front wheel up at 50mph back then. It was very well balanced. I remember how free it made me feel as I twisted the throttle and felt  it pull on my arms hard.  I will keep both wheels on the pavement now..

I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Kind mockery at the well intentioned, but unfettered cruelty towards those would be prison guards of my creative possibilities. This so as to learn as much from misunderstanding as from understanding. Taking pleasure in worthy opponents and making language fluid and flowing like a river yet pointed and precise as a dagger. Contradicts the socialistic purpose of language and makes for a wonderful linguistic dance, A verbal martial art with constant parries that hone the weapon that is the two edged sword of my mouth.

    “Be careful.”

"It seems like there's times a body gets struck down so low, there ain't a power on earth that can ever bring him up again. Seems like something inside dies so he don't even want to get up again. But he does."
