So im looking for some good books to help me further my knowledge on renting/owning, and everything associated with that. Also, i want to become an Oracle DBA. No IT background. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your library should be exhausted before you spend bucks on real estate books. Mine has an entire shelf devoted to real estate.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Protip: any IT certification costs money, there’s often more than one certification needed to complete the “package”, and you have to retake everything every few years. Try looking at your local technical school or vocational school as a class there teachers to help you if there’s questions and the certification price is usually included. This advice is in general for any IT certification, not just Oracle.

By the way, going from zero IT skills to certification as an Oracle DBA isn’t easy. Frankly, databases are a pain and can be very complex and this is all high-end database work so it’s going to be especially rough. Due to the difficulty and the HUGE cost if someone makes any mistakes, most of the time they want certification AND a degree. Anyone who says being an Oracle DBA is easy is dead wrong. Anything with a six figure salary is NOT easy to get into, NOT easy to learn, and has competition out the wazoo from others who were also attracted by the six figure salary. The money is high for a reason.

Here’s a good site on becoming an Oracle DBA from someone who has been one for many years. Read it for lots of info and advice.

Amazon.com, always buy used books. They are always new print overruns.

Yes, you can get used books, for like 1 cent + shipping and they’re in reasonably good condition. I’ve already scored some books from there that I wasn’t able to find in any stores.

Microsoft has entity framework fir code first. Where you can define your classes to code against and it generates the sql server db. The best stuff I have seen.

Where can i look into this?? Very intrigued by it. Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot for all the replies guys, really appreciate it.

I’ve read a lot about time management here. Using my time wisely and getting the most out of things i put my time into. I’ve noticed how much time i centered around TV and entertainment. It’s a HUGE waste of time, and its really kept me from accomplishing more than i could have. I have also created a routine that’ll help keep me on track to help me accomplish my goals for SQL and Oracle certs. I’ll keep you guys posted on my journey. Thanks again.
