Book recommendation for German readers

One of my favorites, read this book years ago, just reading it for the second time.
Unfortunately this book is only available in German language. I guess the publisher wanted to spare the cost on such a fruitless matter.The book rolls up the “patriarchy” from a different perspective, being; “What if women were the authority in patriarchy”?. It´s a humourous/ ironic look on society and raises valid points how men are considered disposable in todays world. It´s a good laugh and so true. I guess the author had to make this opener (see above), in order not to get ripped apart, being called a misogynist or have the book published by one of the bigger publishers here.

Title of the book is :”Frauen und Kinder zuerst! Denkblockade Feminismus: Eine Streitschrift” transl. “Women and children first! Mental block feminism: A controversy”

ISBN 3-499-60946-0.

Mind the book has been published in 2000, so it´s really not true that men are sleeping over here…..

Good comments on the book at amazon, worth a read too… only German though.

Wonder what it would cost to translate a book and what it would cost to get the copyright/publishing rights…..?!

Even though I haven’t read this book as of yet (thanx for that heads up recommendation; sounds like a very good one to me) I’d be up for translating it in a heart beat (if the price was right that is to be sure, but still..).

Anyway I am definitely gonna look for it and that’s a given.

Find a way to get that book translated then put it online.

Also mein kampf is a pretty good read for ze German race it is clear, thought out and in German ze original language of ze führer.

And once you are done reading the works of the almighty führer then go on to read the communist manifesto as it originally was in German.

That happened after the big clean-up after WW2 everything naziesque either got torn down (monuments/statues etc.) or outlawed (books, symbols, gestures etc). The design of the eagle (national symbol) has completely changed, so it shows no resemblance to the old Nazi design.
Germans get reminded of their bloody past, for more than 70 years now, you will find documentaries on TV about the 3rd Reich each and every day.
I wonder if that is good or bad, concerning if it keeps things alive somehow?! That is especially for people whose parents or grand parents were born long after the war and can tell stories about how it was first hand.
The motto of the government after the war was/is to “Never Forget” about what has happened, to hinder history from repeating.
There´s still people here that glorify the greatness of Germany back then, some of them deny what happened to the jews and dissidents in the KZ´s and call it the “Auschwitzlüge” (Auschwitz-Lie).
A lot of these people are proud to be German, I don´t say there´s anything wrong with being proud of something in general, but those people deny the really bad part and refuse to admit it.

I don´t share pride in anything I have not achieved myself or in a team. I don´t get concept of national pride at all. It was not my choice as what and where I was born.

@roydal Yeah that´s a good read! I read it as an anthology of three of her books: The Manipulated Man/ The Polygamous Sex/ The End of the Manipulation, all three are good books and worth reading to get a basic understanding.
Though the last book in that row, describes a model of society which I doubt could ever be realized, at least not in the world where living in right now, so it´s a little utopic or idealistic at best.

Yeah I know.
No doubt it is quite a number and a number which at this current point in my life would help me an awful lot, but hey, so far I always managed to somehow survive even the hardest downs, because after all, they are usually only temporary…

Right now is the first time in my life I look at my pass sheets and am not scared s~~~less, changed my job 2 yrs. ago and finally feel myself appreciated as a worker, both ways financially and personally. Although my workload has doubled there.
Don´t get me wrong I would not consider myself wealthy though I do not have to worry anymore when something in my possesion goes bust or worry about dental care and I can finally at least in theory afford a motorcycle again, since I just share a car.

Stuff like this is partially happening in America to the confederate flag and it is not getting a positive reaction with the creation of southerners who spout the south will rise again.

And eventually once you keep telling people how big pieces of s~~~ they are everyday that will case an uprising and a possible 4th reich.

I don´t think that will happen (4th Reich), at least not in the near future,of course there is people here that tend to the extreme right, but it´s rather marginal. There´s powers here that keep that under control, also think that Germany will never return to the state it was in when the Nazis came in charge, yet there´s quite some unemployment and the migrants from the Middle East seem a great concern for those people.
There is the AFD (party) which gains voters with a more “national” perspective, working with some people´s xenophobia and spouting populist propaganda. Still don´t think they´re going to win over though and form the government, they just don´t have too much on their agenda besides that and being against the EU (as a ruling instance). If this right wing stuff gets to hot I´ll have to consider leaving the country.
Was not fully aware of the situation in the South. I knew that racism still is strong there in some places, just now read a little about it. Some people over here have confederate flags too, but I think they don´t get what all is attached to it and may have it because they think it looks cool and is American, naive in a way.
Those people in the Southern states I guess are similar to the Neonazis over here, drunkards, unemployed and hopeless, so they blame their misery to others, am I right?
