Alright, Boys! So here is a quick summary.

Last month I had to get going on my goal again. By the end of May I want to be at my fighting weight of about 190lbs. A month ago I stepped on the scale and weighed in at 245. Suck.

Today I stepped on at 223 lbs. Better. I haven’t figured out how to make time to work out, but with the spare tire ‘going flat’, it won’t be long. I’m on a ketogenic diet and have kicked myself off a couple of times by pushing the carb envelope too far.

I figure I need to lose about 5 lbs a week to meet my timeline. So, I’ll need Keto production, lower calories, and exercise to make that happen. I’m happy so far.

Personally, I don’t think 5 lbs. per week is a realistic goal unless you were extremely obese which you are not.

Trying to lose 5 lbs. per week is a lot of weight to TRY and lose over an extended period of time regardless of your diet and exercise program.

It’s ALSO COMMON to hit plateaus along the way even though you may be adhering to your diet and exercise program.

Thanks, Awakened. I won’t be completely bummed if I don’t hit the mark. I know how hard it is and that it is unlikely. I, however, relish a challenge!

I think by all means that you can lose the weight, but it just may take longer then you are currently planning, and as long as you keep a positive attitude about it then just keep doing what you’re doing, and it will happen when it happens.

Stetting specific goals can lead to frustration.
How about a consistant life style of burning slightly more calories than you take in.
    Now I’ll shut up….

Thanks… I’m with you. I have a formal event that I must attend. I need to fit into my old Army dress uniform and don’t want to buy another. Hell or high water for the short term. 🙂

    Good luck BoB.

    My advice RE: Nutrition

Just remove all temptation. You’ll be swayed here and there to make bad food decisions but if you don’t have it in the house then you cant relapse.

I don’t know much about the keto diet, but i believe it’s LOW CARBS? – Just don’t buy carbs and you won’t get tempted. 🙂

Often when people fail with diets is they have product in the house that isn’t suitable.

My Aunties been ‘on a diet’ all her life. Bread and biscuits is her biggest problem, yet she continues to buy it every week.

Thanks, Arcturis. I mainly have done just this. Low carbs is the key. Part of my losing 21 pounds in three weeks at the start. Probably half was water. Still… feels good.

I was in the Army (five combat tours) and know what I need to do.

I had several medical problems that start me on the road to FatAssVille. I’m on another road now!

Kudo’s Bob and thank you for touching base, been wondering where in the world Bob-San Diego might be! Hang in there and keep focused on the outcome and not current trends.

    I, however, relish a challenge!

I am with you as I also am fighting the dress blues battle. While I have no formal events forthcoming, setting them up was too great of a hassle to just throw away because of a short term health trend.

Hang in there and set the standard at your event!

Thanks, GregBo. You know my pain! I’ll get there. It may take a gnawing-round-the-clock-stomach, but I’ll get there.

Well,,, I dunno about you guys and calories, and working out.

As for me I have to split some more firewood all day and remove snow again tomorrow, that’s two days of streaching out, working, getting exhausted and any other bulls~~~ this March has to throw at me! The f~~~ing snow just keep on coming!

My buddy went to Jay Peak and said the powder was as deep as you could plunge your pole down all the way to your shoulder! I’m f~~~ing p~~~ed that I can’t afford a trip at the moment! Otherwise I’d be f~~~ing gone!

Good job so far! Keep going.

You are going to need some smaller clothes. That is the only down side. I hate buying clothes as much as I hate the grocery store.
