Linkin Park was one of my favorite bands growing up, with my favorite song by them being “In The End”. I loved that song so much!

When Chester Bennington passed away earlier this year, I had no idea who he was until I saw a picture of his face, because I didn’t know the names of any band members of Linkin Park until now. The news came as a wave of shock and sadness.

I wanted to do a piano cover of In The End but the rap part of the song doesn’t sound that great on piano. So instead, I did a piano cover of “Shadow of the Day” in Chester’s memory. The lyrics to this song is very fitting. I have posted part of it below.

Rest In Peace Chester. This one’s for you.

In cards and flowers on your window
Your friends all plead for you to stay

    Sometimes beginnings aren’t so simple
    Sometimes goodbye’s the only way

And the sun will set for you
The sun will set for you
And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey
And the sun will set for you

And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey
And the sun will set for you

    “In The End”.

As well as Crawling, Numb, One Step Closer and What I’ve Done. A great band and a significant loss to alt rock music.

What I’ve Done is my favorite.

All good things come to an end.
