I’ve mentioned this guy I know several times here. We’ve been colleagues and friends for something like 18 years now… but as the years go by and I get more focused and determined about seeing the world for what it is, he seems to go deeper and deeper into magical thinking and self-delusional bulls~~~.
Am I going to have to just cut him off?
These past few weeks he’s just been itching to corner me into a conversation about the “Y’all Queda” occupation of the animal sanctuary by the guys who did the stuff. I don’t know who they are or if they have a legitimate beef or not… frankly I don’t care… but he just can’t help but bring it up because he thinks it’s gonna rile me.
You see, I’m a cis-gendered white male and I own firearms. Furthermore, I’m from the south originally and I’m a proponent of states rights, proud of my American citizenship and outspoken about standing up for my freedoms as well as advocating for rationality, competence and responsibility. I’m also clear on the topic that this society has issues and could do a lot better, for the record, but while maintaining that were doing a f~~~load better than pretty much anyone else.
Anyway, so he”s going off about how awesome it is that when those guys asked for people to support them by sending food, some people instead sent them dildos and he says how proud he is for “our side” that someone coughed up the cash to ship them a 50 gallon drum of lube, as if there is such a thing.
I said “So they occupied a bird park… who cares? Ignore them and they’ll get bored and go away. You should know by now not to feed the trolls.”
He comes back with “Well if they were black, they’d all have been shot by now.”
I let him have it: “Oh, you mean like all those black guys who were shot for taking to the streets in… wait, there was the time they killed all those black guys who protested… no, wait… I’ve got something for this. Oh, you mean the Branch Davidians when they burned down that house full of white men with guns? Or maybe you think occupiers of public spaces should be shot… like all those hipsters that sat in those city parks for a year during Occupy Wall Street? So what was your point again?”
Dead air.
“Dude, I get that you have a problem with being a white male but I don’t… so maybe you shouldn’t repeat at me every piece of garbage you hear on the internet. If you really believe the government is going soft on these guys because they’re white males and that the right response to white male activists, regardless of their issue, is to mock and ridicule them, then show me cases where the government has gone in guns blazing after other classes of activists and tell me why blacks, gays, illegal immigrants, transsexuals and feminists shouldn’t also be mocked and ridiculed for their activism. You want to bring this s~~~ up, then let’s have an actual discussion, otherwise keep it to yourself… I’m not interested in what the snowflakes are saying on tumbler.”
Honestly, I think I’m going to have to cut him off. I’m probably the only red pill guy he knows and he’s getting more and more pushy about his social justice bulls~~~. What a shame.
