I’ve read two online articles stating that black women make 60 cents for every dollar white men make in the USA. But they don’t explain why black women make less. I suspect that, since many of them are single mothers, they are less likely to work full time or longer hours because they have to leave work at a certain time to pick up their kids from school or babysit. I think this group of women would enjoy more wealth if they would choose to get married to a man who is employed and has a vested interest in their well-being (instead of some thug who is in & out of prison). I’d like to see a generation of black Americans raised by TWO PARENTS who value having a good education as much as Asian immigrants do.

More black American women are going to college these days, so that’s a plus. All they have to do is keep their legs closed and focus on their education and job skills. If they remain single, they’ll have the option of working longer hours. Then they should be able to close the pay gap in the near future.

I think women, in general, who want more money should consider the benefits of NOT GETTING PREGNANT until they structure their lives in a way that gives them some financial stability (education, career, investments). It may be that white men spend more time and effort trying to advance their careers so they can provide their wives and kids with a middle-class/rich lifestyle. Or maybe they just want a better standard of living for themselves. It make take a few decades for the black American community to catch up to the standard of living of the average white American household (with an income between $40,000 to $60,000 a year), but I think it will eventually happen. Many Americans have proved that it is possible to make a lot of money with hard work, personal sacrifices, and good education, and making wise investments—regardless of their ethnicity or gender.

I predict that there will be more government spending on job training programs and college grants for people of colour in the United States in the coming years.

They earn much less than that.

I used to live in New Mexico for a couple of years. My ex had a business and had a young girl working for her from there. All of this girl’s friends told her she was crazy to work. Just get pregnant and get on the “government dole”. They all had multiple kids with multiple guys and got checks every month to do nothing. They seemed perfectly content with a single wide and group of other single mothers to hang out with.

My point: They didn’t want a career for financial stability, they just wanted free money.
