What am I missing about this black lives matter protest outside the white house? Black people are calling for racial equality, but last time I checked a black man has been president in the white house for the past 8 years. Why are we seeing these types of protests again?

I am starting to get the feeling this is just whinging for the sake of whinging.

If a black president isn’t a gauge of the racial reality in the US, which is that everyone is being treated fairly, than I don’t know what will convince these people they will ever feel equal. If anything this proves to me multiculturalism doesn’t work.

The term “hate crime” is bulls~~~ in itself. Every crime is a hate crime it doesn’t matter about race, sexuality, gender etc. Just another way of dividing people and creating outrage. And you’re right multiculturalism doesn’t work as everything becomes racial.

All lives matter and the police in this country resemble the German Gestapo during World War II. Police = pawns of the state.

And there’s your answer,we live in a “lack of accountability” society. When women life sucks they blame men(feminism),when black lives suck we blame racism(blacklivesmatter). They comb the canvas for isolated issues (that could possibly be racist) and ships them to CNN and let them do the repackaging for ratings.

Never lose sight of what brought you here.

Bunch of idiots. They are getting heads up in college. Asians SATs scores is reduce by 50 and Black SATs scored increased by over 200 points. It’s just another version of feminism.

The key concept is mob rule.

Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America
    by Ann Coulter
    http://www.amazon.com/Demonic-How-Liberal-Endangering-America/dp/0307353486/

The demon is a mob, and the mob is demonic. The Democratic Party activates mobs, depends on mobs, coddles mobs, publicizes and celebrates mobs—it is the mob. Sweeping in its scope and relentless in its argument, Demonic explains the peculiarities of liberals as standard groupthink behavior. To understand mobs is to understand liberals.

You’re missing the money, fame, and power that comes to those at the top of the SJW food chain — the leadership — those social justice warriors that start an organization. They’re the Kingpins. Look at the rise of someone like Al Sharpton; he is an adviser to the President. He rose to power through the same blacksploitation as Jesse Jackson. He’s moved up — to cigar clubs, a West side apartment, fame and fortune, and young girlfriends. Even after making up the Tawana Brawley hoax. Tawana recently started paying the Pagones [prosecutor] settlement: http://nypost.com/2013/08/04/pay-up-time-for-brawley-87-rape-hoaxer-finally-shells-out-for-slander/ for defamation that she lost. Of course, Sharpton lost his defamation case too… But his rich buddies paid the settlement dough (Johnnie Cochrane & friends).

There’s little fame or money preaching a message of personal responsibility. I believe black lives DO matter — along with all other lives. And so black youth ought to be encouraged to pursue trades and education, and be taught personal responsibility. The State needs to stop encouraging single mothers to raise ALL poor children, cut off the benefits, and place the children with responsible parents.

Fomenting racial tensions is a thriving business in America, that spans generations.

This isn’t to excuse police abuses; personally, I favor dash cameras. I recognize that police work often attracts authoritarian personalities, too.

People need to focus on justice, not the color of the police officers and those they interact with.

If you want to learn more about Black Lives Matter, visit the website and read ‘Herstory’. The occupation of the principal founder, Alicia Garza, is a ‘Special Projects Director’, described as an ‘Organizer, Writer, and Freedom Dreamer’ for the National Domestic Worker’s Association. http://www.domesticworkers.org/staff/alicia-garza

CrazyCanuck: Of course it’s another version of feminism. Asians comprise 12% of California’s population, but about 40% of admissions to elite universities with selective admissions, such as Berkley and UCLA. I see nothing wrong with that. Their culture typically values education. So they are over-represented relative to the racial makeup of the surrounding community. In my opinion, public institutions should not even be permitted to ask race on applications…

The Black Lives Matter movement has been a joke since it started, along with the Baltimore riots and Rachel Dolezal and Shaun King, and everything else. If white people are so privileged, why are people “pretending’ to be black then?

This is all a joke. These people are mindless drones here.

Why are we seeing these types of protests again? I am starting to get the feeling this is just whinging for the sake of whinging.

It’s pretty easy to understand really.
(Assuming everyone understands “equal opportunities” doesn’t mean “equal outcomes”)

When you’re being treated equally, you’re being treated like a PEER.
That means >>> NOT special. It’s actually a GOOD thing.

… but there will always be those who don’t see it as a good thing, because when they are “equal” they can’t claim “discrimination” anymore or demand special attention and privileges.

Blacks are in the white house…. winning Oscars…. Emmys……. Oprah is one of the most successful people on the planet…… and Beyoncé and Jayz are the Royal couple of the music biz. That means “color” no longer separates them as a “special” group who is disadvantaged. They are peers and have all the freedoms and opportunities as anyone else. Nobody stopped Beyonce “because she was black”. Oprah is a prime example of how not even black women can claim racial discrimination or sexist discrimination against black women.

This actually sucks for people who still want special privileges and attention. …… just like feminists can be seen across the street protesting beauty pageants. On one side you have the beauty queens lining up in bathing suits with a smile to compete for the crown…. and on the other side you have the fatties scream “objectification of women’s bodies!!!”.

When you’re not “special” anymore you don’t get to have special events to draw attention to yourself as someone who is being left out. They can’t blame “color” anymore… just like a white man doesn’t have the luxury of saying “I DIDN”T GET THAT JOB BECAUSE I AM WHITE!!!!”. He would be laughed out of the room for that…. even when it’s TRUE.

The people who claim “discrimination”, “sexism”, “racism” and say they demand “equality” actually HATE it when they get it.

For example, the Yahoo website doesn’t allow you to type the word “negro” because it’s considered “racist”. ( It looks like “****” when you type it out.) But you CAN give money to the “United Negro College Fund”. . That’s not “racist” at all.

See the glaring hypocrisy with that?

It’s just like when women are perfectly OK with men paying for dates and everything – while demanding “equality”, equal rights and equal pay for women. Until the waiter drops the check and you tell her how much her “equal” half will cost. Then she’s not privileged to get freebies anymore.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

Keymaster: Absolutely. To a social justice warrior, there is only equality of OUTCOMES. And if you want equality of outcomes, you cannot have equality of opportunity. If UCLA says it must admit 14% Asians and 7% blacks to mirror the California population (presumably, equality of outcomes), you cannot have equality of opportunity in admissions for the highly academically qualified Asians.

Nobody says the NBA is racist because blacks are over-represented. Nobody says UCLA is racist because Asians are over-represented there. But any time white males are over-represented in a field, it’s due to racism and patriarchy. Why aren’t there more male nurses? Sexism? Or personal choices?

As for ‘chivalry’, isn’t that just sexism that FAVORS a group? Isn’t the United Negro College Fund a racist organization by definition? I understand giving scholarships to the underprivileged, but limiting it to one gender or race is sexist or racist. So let’s call it what it is.

All part of the bigger plan I fear. Black against white then blacks against Hispanic. Then Hispanic against whomever.

Muslim agains Jew …. catholic against everyone … women against men …. courts against families.

There is a pattern and most are blind or busy protesting and sjwing to see the woods for the trees.

Devide and conquer is slowly being eased in …… while we cry about made up problems.

you aren’t missing anything. What they want to have is a consequence free environment devoid of white people. But when something happens, they want all the support that America can give them….It’s simple, leave me alone and finance me, and there will be no problems. Our President and the phalanx of SJW’s have wrought this monster…..now we free thinkers have to deal with it.

I hate Black Lives Matter! They get the idea that only their lives matter and no one else’s. They think cops are hunting them down and killing them for the sport of it, but then again, every time there’s a theft, murder, shooting, rape, drug conviction, vandalism, scam, you have a 90% chance of seeing a black mug shot in the news. Maybe cops wouldn’t be monitoring them if they didn’t commit so many crimes. Look at Chicago, near where I live; you hear about murders and shootings all week long. Get this, they have been protesting since a video showing a white cop gunning down a 17-year-old black man shooting him 16 times, they protested, went to the Christmas Tree at Daley Plaza and tore off most of the lights. Yet, these are the same people who want you to feel sorry for them and understand their cause but then again, when they do protest (Ferguson, MO, Baltimore, New York) they commit all kinds of violent crimes that make you want to hate them even more. They don’t advance their cause causing destruction, fires, disrupting students studying in college libraries, calling for the death of cops.

This is what I don’t understand about Black Lives Matter, if their lives mattered so much over everyone else’s, then why do blacks (including in Chicago) keep killing other blacks? And why is it that they never protest black on black crimes, but when a white cops shoots one, then there’s protest, riots and news coverage? I agree with Bill O’Reilly when he called Black Lives Matter a hate group, because they are.
