Back in Sept I took a punt and invested circa £5k (that’s GBP) in Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin.

A week or so ago that was all worth £20k. I sold a small amount of each to pay for a kitchen upgrade (£3k ish), so I’m now only £2k ‘down’ but £15k up. Not bad for 3 months.

Obviously I know it could all go to nothing at any moment. Somehow I don’t think it will. Even if it does I’ve basically lost £2k which I can live with, as there is a slim chance it will make me much more in the future.

I guess this post looks like I’m gloating.. That’s not my intention, I’m trying to show people that having a dabble can be worth it and to not just immediately write it off. If you’ve got cash to invest then why not diversify a little into crypto. It could become big one day.

I think Carnage bought $600 worth of Bitcoin after one of my previous posts, based on that timing that is probably worth at least $2k now.

    Correct.

I just got into Litecoin. I don’t have a ton saved unfortunately due to a job change… I only had spare cash for one coin.. I had wanted to put in more.. Maybe next year.

I had to get off the sidelines finally.

    No risk, no reward…

Good job on the profit. I own Bitcoin and ETH for free. I took out the initial investment and will let the rest run. I do like ETH over Bitcoin and if Litecoin goes on sale I might buy some.

    Good Luck.

    /don’t forget to sell/

    Forgot to add Coinbase SUCKS.

Good move, I’m trying to get hold of these two now. I think they’ll do well next year.

Tau dat, that is an apt quote for life in general.

Well done. Actually this far I’ve had no problems with Coinbase at all. It seems to be hit and miss.

The problem I had was when Bitcoin crossed 19k on their platform they suspended sell orders, but not buy orders. Very greedy.

If had known in advance this kind of surge, I would have invested a few euros in bitcoin. However, I’m happy that I managed to get some litecoin. I think they will grow nicely over time. I see other cryptocurrencies growing as well, therefore I would scatter my investments. I’m paying attention also to etherum and ripple.

Out of your prime, out of my sight.

It can sound like madness, but I see any cryptocoin a good escape route to save money in a place where a c~~~ can’t get in the case of a divorce.

I really wish this technology get more solid, it would be a safe way to make our money not easily available for c~~~s.

Hell yea Sh3lls, me and you got in at the same time. We’re that second wave of early people. I think we’re going to make out like bandits by this time next year.

I won’t buy ETH because it’s not aimed at being an actual currency. Funny enough, people use this as a reason to both buy it and not buy it. I’m one of the not buying it people.

Ripple, I put $17 into it but likely won’t go further because of what Ive read about it never going to be able to get past $10 a coin. Basically, there are too damn many Ripple out there. I might get some IOTA or DASH though. They seem to be more likely to do what Bitcoin did.

Does anyone here have anything to say, specifically about the exchanges, ideally being used by Americans in America.

I’m looking into Kraken finally. I’m trying to find which exchange is most likely to let me withdraw funds into a back account here in America the easiest and with the least fees.

Coinbase: Its very confusing but we all know they charge a ton. My fear is that they’re going to try and wax me for 30% when I try to pull my actually money out into a regular banking account. Anyone know the truth of this. Say I pull out $5000 some day. What % are they gonna trim?

Binance: Obviously this is an Asian exchange that deals with Bitcoin and Alt coins only, no fiat. To start trading there, you have to import bitcoin. Yall have any horror stories with Binance?

Bitstamp: I’m ruthlessly still waiting for authentification. While this one seems promising, it also seems difficult for me because I’m not British and they seem to located in Luxemburg. They also do not offer many Altcoins

Kraken: This is the one I currently find promising but don’t know. It seems ideal for Americans and it offers several different coins. Anyone who has experience trading and withdrawing their profits from Kraken, please advise us if this is a great exchange to be primarily involved with for Americans.

    I’m in the UK.

    Coinbase
Easy to use and trade. Fees are a bit high but if you’re playing the longer game these are insignificant compared to returns, certainly against the returns I’ve made.

    Bitstamp
I’m still waiting for verification, been 2 weeks now.

    Etoro
I’m still learning how this works. But I ploughed a grand into Ripple and just cashed in $400 profits from a couple of weeks.

    End of 2018 predictions
    BTC: $25k
    ETH: $2k
    LTC: $1k
    XRP: $5

I certainly hope so. 🙂 Right now, looks like everything is on sale.

BTW, for those that don’t know, who read a lot and are wondering about what FUD means. FUD is Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. Basically, FUD is propaganda that is meant to cause selling. You’ll also see FOMO less often (Fear Of Missing Out) which is mass hysteria for buying, trying to reap the uptrend profit.

Anyway, I’m picking up this stuff pretty quickly. I’m about ready to purchase sometype of cold wallet that supports Ripple, ETH, BTC and Litecoin. Maybe a few others too. But for the moment, I trust the exchanges with the fewer than $1000 Ive put in.

I’m a bit skeptical about ethereum, too. It would be just a minor investment, mostly out of curiosity.

I spent a 40€ on ripple. I realistically expect a growth up to 3$, not much further. However, I’m open to surprises. I invested the most on litecoin, which looks promising.

Why the skepticism about Ethereum? Has the best developer team behind it. VB reminds me of Steve Jobs. It will – never- just go to nothing all at an instant. That’s old money behind gold and silver talking.
