Here is a recent article on the the benefits of these practices for men. MGTOW_Mike is someone who has been reiterating this for a while now.

    MGTOW brothers,

In a nutshell, no one needs to be a zen monk to reach mindfulness. In fact, you would be surprised what I am about to say. I have a friend, who was ordained as a Buddhist monk for several years. He is my one and only MGTOW friend and has returned from monk-hood. He has told me what really goes on in these temples. Most of the time, it is very political, which is why him and I are sad to see the state of modern Buddhism, thus refuse to go to temples. Only one or a few monks would keep away from all this political crap.

Anyways back to mindfulness. When it comes to mindfulness, I can narrow it down into one word: observation. Our minds are like supercomputers, processing billions and billions and billions of information at any given time. Our five senses pick up information from our surroundings, which transfer information to our psyche/mind. Our mind distorts this incoming information, i.e. we all process information differently based on; genetics and conditioning.

We need to remember to not allow our thoughts to define us. We practice letting them come and go. The human mind gets so caught up in over-processing thoughts, i.e. piling on one thought on top of another thought on top of another thought. At the end of the day, we end up with a stack of thoughts which weighs down on our mind and clouds our perception.

Another thing we MGTOWs can get caught up in, is trying to find the answer to the big picture. It reminds me of a recent thread regarding religion. We all cling onto ideas to make us feel comfortable and if someone comes along and challenges our belief system, we easily get very defensive. These ideas are just electrical fluctuations in our mind, which are very volatile and fleeting. Trying to find the answer to the universe will make you more and more mentally exhausted, like a downward spiral. The more you dig the more questions you will have in your mind…what if? what if? what if?

I shared this video with a number of other MGTOW brothers, so take some time and have a listen:

A tranquil mind is neither happy nor sad, it is uninfluenced by external conditions.

    This is the best advice.

Great video. I highly recommend it. I should probably watch this again tonight given all the rage I’m feeling.

Only briefly. I am not practicing masturbation at the current time. It might explain some of the red pill rage.

I read something interesting about meditation in a daily meditation reader I use. It said, “Meditation is a mental discipline that enables us to focus on one thing at a time”. Simple but incredibly profound and powerful.

Another book said about meditation, “if you can’t find 20 minutes in your life everyday to meditate then you dont have a life”.

    Think about that one.

FYI – I have been meditating (almost) daily for the past 12 years. It has been very challenging at times and I feel like I am sometimes just scratching the surface.

"Women are directly adapted to act as the nurses and educators of our early childhood, for the simple reason that they themselves are childish, foolish, and short-sighted—in a word, are big children all their lives, something intermediate between the child and the man, who is a man in the strict sense of the word. Consider how a young girl will toy day after day with a child, dance with it and sing to it; and then consider what a man, with the very best intentions in the world, could do in her place.” Quote from Arthur Shopenhauer, 17th century philosopher

The Great Courses website (thanks Gregbo, and I have no affiliation or gain either) has a good course on the Science of Mindfulness.

They have done scientific research and it has all kinds of positive benefits like reducing risk of cancer, heart attacks, strokes.

That defines mindfulness as ‘awareness of present experience with acceptance’. So just walking can become mindfulness, eating can become mindfulness. With practice a person can learn to bring their awareness to daily activities and it’s not just something you sit down and do for 20 mins or so.

Thanks for the share on this one. I’m really noticing positive benefits from mindfulness. Anything we can share that’s positive is good.

    I echo Machiavelli comments above.

I found that when I’m running I let my mind just wonder whilst plodding one foot in front of the other.

Also, for the past month I have swam every day, increasing the distance gradually. me and the pool, letting the mind just do its thing whilst my body works out. After both sessions I sit quietly in the sun letting the world rush around me.

Combined with detoxing myself of Social and Mainstream media- the worlds feels a much better place.

My mindfulness has grown and I wonder how did I get through the day before adopting this regime.

Life's a bitch, then you're supposed to marry one and then die- sod that for a game of soldiers!

Same here. Swim and breath. You have to breath correctly or you drown obviously so you mind can get lost in the rhythm. Also I’ve noticed that people are less likely to try and chat with you while swimming VS hiking, my other cardio / meditation exercise.
